"I visited the emergency room at San Ramon because I was experiencing symptoms of a kidney stone. I was there for about 3.5 hours. During my time there, I received: -one urine test -one blood test -one IV with Saline -one ultrasound scan -one CT scan Almost one month later, I got billed for a total amount of: $38,934.72 How does that even make sense? Almost $40k for 3.5 hours in the emergency room!?  I immediately called the billing department, assuming there was a mistake. However, they clearly stated that the billing is correct, and the pricing has been verified to be correct. What’s also strange, is that it wasn’t one single bill; there were two. One bill in the amount of $37,528.72 for all of the services provided, and then an additional bill in the amount of $1,406.00, which was specifically for the CT scan. According to the billing department, the $1,406.00 bill is because the CT scan facility/equipment is run by a vendor. But even if you ignore the $1,406.00 bill, the larger bill still listed “diagnostic/therapeutic imaging” for an amount of $17,673.00 That’s more than 17 times the amount of a typical CT scan! Because of this visit, my insurance deductible as well as the out-of-pocket limit both went from zero to their max amounts… in a single day! ($2,500 for the deductible and $4,850 for the out-of-pocket limit). To put this into perspective: The average annual income in America for 2023 was $59,384, and I just got billed for more than 65% of it… Better yet, the minimum wage in CA is now $16/hour, coming out to $33,280 annually. A full-time minimum wage employee literally works 2,080 hours in a year, and their income still comes out to be $5,654.72 less than the amount of my bill… which was for 3.5 hours of hospital services."

"Overall the experience was good. One doctor on call was rude and very insensitive. She told me I was fine to go home because my blood work was good, but I have thrown up and feel terrible. I came by ambulance but will go anywhere else if I need to go to a hospital"

"My children and I had a bad experience at this regional hospital in San Ramón. We took her for pain that was supposedly from the liver, but they did so many tests and they said that everything was fine three days later with all the medication they gave her because it was too much of a mistake. pipi another thirty studies and they said that everything was fine, my daughters left their telephone number so that any decision that had to be made was communicated to us but they ignored everything until one Saturday we visited her everything was fine we said goodbye on Sunday when we returned she is completely sedated, talking nonsense and moving around a lot, I tried to talk to the doctor, he sent me messages with the nurse and the explanation they gave me was that it was the effect of anesthesia. By then, 12 hours had passed, which was too much, I asked him to come talk to me after 50 minutes. He told us to go to the hospital the next day at 9:30am, they told us that they had already taken her to intensive care or ICU. When we arrived through a window we saw about 6 or 8 people intubating a person, I still didn't know who was my We called my wife because we had to call before to open the door. After 3 hours the doctor came out and told us that she got sick and they had to change her when I told her that we did not authorize any tests and that she was not on record to authorize me. He said that they had to intubate her and that if he authorized it, by then she would already be intubated. I told him that it was fine but that they had to ask me for authorization for everything from then on. It lasted two weeks in which everything remained the same. Last Saturday, I was there. When they disconnected her from the dialysis machine that they had supposedly put on her to clean the filter, I had to leave because it was time to leave the visits the next day when I returned, she was already too serious, something affected her because when she was breathing she had a spasm. When I asked the doctor on duty, he told me that it was normal since they took hours from his life. He died that day. The last thing I asked the nurse was where they would do the autopsy. Minutes after my wife died, everyone was stunned and three times asking where they would do the autopsy, the nurse put it on paper that an autopsy was not required so they could hide any evidence."

"I would give zero stars as well!!! I had my gallbladder removed in September 23 and gave the intake people all my information including my Blue Cross PPO and Medicare Part A Hospital card! Medicare was never used and after numerous phone calls we are being threatened with collection. Do not schedule surgery here....also had many other issues related to nurses as well."

"This review is for their Family Birthing Center. Their nurses are the best. They cared for my wife well during her NST and also delivery, she has a very smooth delivery and our baby is also taken care properly during our two-day stay. The epidural nurse did a great job, my wife didn't have any side effects later."
