"This is for the ER. Dr in charge turned my husband away because they didn't had a podiatrist on staff. Took him to providence. They took him in. Put him on antibiotics and then worried about a surgeon for his foot. Will not return to Asante willingly."

"Came into the ER and had the most amazing care by every single staff member and doctor that helped me. I got transferred to the hospital for 24 hours and my nurses and doctors there were also beyond amazing. Everyone was so attentive, patient, friendly and caring. I felt everybody had my best interest at heart. My only complaint was how rude the lab people were when I was dropping off a specimen an hour after being discharged. Other than that I had an amazing experience and highly recommend!"

"Best hospital I've ever been too. The nurses today took care of me when I couldn't stop puking & made me feel like I was at home. I can't thank enough EVERYONE who was there today and helped me with my anxiety. They will take good care of you and treat you with respect. Again best hospital I've ever been too. Thank you guys!"

"Visit to Asante Ashland Community Hospital emergency department on 10/24/2023: Dr. Phelps conducted a thorough evaluation of my medical concerns, was polite and listened to my history, and prescribed appropriate tests. The results of my tests were extremely helpful for future medical diagnosis. I could not ask for better care."

"Unhelpful ER. I've sent clients from my work here in emergencies several times in the last year and it is typically a massive struggle to get any information or updates until your discharge, possibly 10+ hrs later. The staff are very friendly, however I did not feel addressed in a thorough way. I went in, myself, after always defending the hospital to my staff who face trouble there with our clients - and unfortunately faced the same thing myself. To be in for concerns related to your heart is scary... So seeing 2 different staff get readings that made the machine alert (2 different machines), but have both staff tell me "that's just the machine" and do more readings until they get one that looks "good", was very concerning. I would have felt cared for had staff investigated these readings before immediately assuming it was "another wonky machine", asked how I was feeling when they noticed the dramatic change in readings, or provided any kind of real info or reassurance other than just needing to take their word for it that you're fine and the machine is faulty. The fact that staff did not even stay in the room for the 30 seconds one of the machines was running seemed negligent. I understand he can see readings from his desk screen, but I am a human who came for care and left feeling very uneasy and uncared for. I think Asante has great potential and would be a wonderful hospital with a little more thoroughness and compassion. Please remember that people are looking up to you in regards to their life and health. If you need to rest because you're overworked, please do so. It is not acceptable to be hurried or dismissive with patients. Remember that "abusive behavior will not be tolerated" sign you post all over - be careful to remember that invalidating patients rather than really putting in time to make sure they're well could very well be interpreted as abusive behavior from someone who is trusting you with their life. I look forward to seeing improvements, as this is the hospital we will have to continue using with our clients at my place of employment. When I observe improvements, I will update this review."
