Reviews
"I host my Furry meet here once a month and it's the best location since the original one was hosted here 12 or so years ago! I grew up around the area and im very comfortable here! Lots of fun memories in these rocks and cages! ❤️"
"Great place to visit and learn more about its history. Plenty of trails with great views all around. Free parking."
"I like ghost cities. This one is something very similar. It is so pity that this place was close. It was open more than a 100 years ago. Unfortunately that site of the park is abandoned. It can be a good attraction."
"A nice hiking spot with some history. There are several trails you can hike on. There's also the abandoned animal cages you can stop by and see. Some cages are open and others are locked. Poor animals had small cages, must be why they closed it. There's a lot of good photo opportunities here. It does get a little full on weekends so expect a crowd."
"Get there early for parking. We got there around 330 pm on a Saturday and it was packed, but at least it's free! Kids were excited to explore the old zoo. We had a 3 yr old and opted to not take the stroller. It sucked because there are a few big hills you have to walk up to see the old zoo, which we discovered that's where the hiking trails start too. If you do bring a stroller, you might have to leave it to hike the dirt trails. We didnt get that far so not sure if there are paved walkways further in. There are some cool cages you can explore when you get to the entrance area, but I was a little worried to let my 7 yr old go by himself. There was a lot of broken glass near one of them. But he enjoyed looking around. We only lasted 30 min because of the heat but I would have loved to explore this area more."
