Sand Castle Inn and Suites 785 Seacoast Drive, Imperial Beach, CA 91932

"Sand Castle Inn and Suites was reasonably priced and in a perfect location near businesses and the beach. The rooms are simple, small, clean, and my stay was surprisingly quiet. The beach was beautiful, although there are signs posted warning that the water might be toxic... There were people surfing. A local said that the beach is polluted from cross border industries, as this location is only a mile or less from the border."

"It's an older spot with older rooms, but they were clean and as updated as much as possible. Tile flooring makes walking in with sandy beach feet less problematic. The walls are thin. VERY thin. We were placed in the room adjacent to the office and heard phone calls and staff throughout our stay (during office hours). So we were woken by them, but the office is closed at night, so we slept well."

"While Sand Castle Inn and Suites is not as fancy as other hotels in the area, their rates are much lower. There is a fancy hotel across the street that is beautiful yet it is also three times the nightly rate. The Sand Castle Inn is clean, affordable and has super nice staff. I can walk across the street and have my toes in the sand in minutes."

"Friendly and professional staff. Great view from the second floor. Room was just OK although very spacious. Bed was comfortable. Curtains were cheap and didn't close all the way. No towel racks. No instructions for TV. No hair dryer. Walls are paper thin and I heard everything going on next door. Room did not look "finished" - blown insulation around the cracks, bad paint job. No USB ports, no ice machine on premises, no ice trays in freezer (in fact, the freezer badly needed defrosting). Some plastic silverware would have been nice. Only one coffee cup. Rug was a tripping hazard. I have stayed here three or four times and I can tell that they're trying to "upgrade" --but like a lot of little motels these days, there is zero ambience, no real "extras," old cheap furniture, etc. Also, I simply don't understand why they charge for parking. They should build this cost into the price and it would still be reasonable. This motel is soon to become "contactless" which means they send you a code and charge everything to your credit card without ever seeing you. I will miss the feeling of "checking in" and knowing someone is watching out for us guests. It's a good value but if there were alternatives, I'd be looking at that."

"The hotel doesn’t have air conditioning however they do have signs posted in their lobby and their website therefore for the people complaining of no ac, it’s something you didn’t catch. However they do have a fan in the kitchen, another in the bedroom and a rotating fan you can connect to an outlet. Also if you open the windows it’s a nice breeze you get. They have a patio that’s lit up at night and an area with vending machines. The people in the office are super sweet, the place is a block away from the beach and a couple blocks from the pier with shops, local eateries, coffee shops within walking distance. Pet friendly! For the price you can’t complain! It’s such a cute place and super welcoming!"
