"I've been a hair client of Lacey's for roughly for 3-4 years now and she is nothing short of...amazing. I have thick, coarse, very long layered auburn hair, so there is a lot of it. She is able to not only cut it with ease, but also provide me with suggestions to maintain it so simply between cuts. Beyond that, we collectively discuss and project out what we are 'going to do next' for the upcoming year, each time we meet. If I have ideas, she'll authentically let me know her thoughts. We go over photo examples together so that we both are aligned. Now that I'm getting older, that involves transitioning to glazes and perhaps different shades to help make maintenance easier for me. To help me through my own needs such as age transitions, health issues, and potential environmental effects; always giving me advice and tools to help me protect and keep my hair healthy and in the best condition it can be in. And it is! It is by far my best statement piece that I wear. People recognize me immediately just because of my hair, I'm completely blessed. "I had the most incredible experience with Evan at Ruby Lu! I'd never been here before, and had tried a few places in Madison when I first moved here to find somewhere good but hadn't been successful until now. I really think I've found my go-to hair artist in Evan. I didn't have very clear instructions for him because I'm awful at expressing what I want but he somehow nailed it perfectly anyway! I came in with sections of super brassy blonde leftover from having my hair purpley-red done by another salon and left with a glossy but subtle red-violet mixed with brunette I'd never had before. It looks soooooo beautiful in the sun!! I didn't even know what I wanted for a cut, I just told him something sexy with some fun playful pieces and I walked out of there the happiest I've been with a haircut in a long time."
