Located in Half Moon Bay, California, the Burleigh H. Murray Ranch State Park offers a peaceful retreat in a pristine valley. The park, purchased by the State of California in 1983, is home to groves of mature eucalyptus trees and a variety of wildlife. Visitors can explore the historic Mills Barn, dating back to the late 1800s, and enjoy a leisurely hike along the old ranch road alongside Mills Creek.

Dogs are welcome at the park on a leash, and camping is not available on-site. The park offers guided hikes and other public programs, as well as naturalist-led backpacking trips through the Santa Cruz Mountains. Online reservations are not available, so visitors are encouraged to check the Parks Events page for upcoming activities.

Permits are required for events and weddings, and a photography permit is needed for commercial photography. The park is supported by the Coastside State Parks Association and the Friends of Santa Cruz State Parks, who help preserve and maintain this beautiful natural area. "This was a great time. Easy parking, pet friendly, an easy hiking trail, there are even a couple of porta potties along the way just in case. We took some sandwiches and sides and relaxed at one of the picnic tables while enjoying the view and some grub. I would definitely go again next time we're in Half Moon Bay"

"Nice mile walk into historical barn. A trail further goes deeper into two wooden water tanks but used trail diminishes into brushes and stinging nettles. It would be great if there is connecting trail to Purisima Open Space. The trailhead parking is just off the road, so there is no direct connect to the Coast."

"Great short hike and interesting to see the barn and antique farm equipment. There is a gorgeous stream and an 1800 style bridge made of rocks. Also there is poison oak all over the place so beware. if you get poison oak on you make sure to wash with Dawn dish soap when you get home."
