"Warning: FALSE ADVERTISEMENT. Do Not Stay Here. Please read the entire post. They do not have breakfast. We always book hotels that offer breakfast, and when booking this hotel it states they have breakfast. This hotel is in San Jose with a major international airport and tons of working people (headquarters for PayPal, Google, Netflix, eBay, Cisco, Facebook, LinkedIn, Intel, Adobe, and many more). Breakfast is important for traveling working people and not an unreasonable expectation when it is advertised. When I went into the lobby at 730am for breakfast the lady at the front desk looked at me confused and said "no, we don't have breakfast, we haven't had it for a few years". This is absolutely UNACCEPTABLE. When we brought it up to the manager we were denied any sort of discount or refund. Again, UNACCEPTABLE. I highly recommend staying away from this place. Another topic: no hot water. We had to let the water run about 10 minutes before getting hot water. We called the nice gal at the desk and she came to look at the faucet. She told us unfortunately we just have to let it run until it gets hot. Wasting this much water IS NOT OK. Especially in CA where there is always a drought. A report to the county is next. And another topic(which is miniscule compared to the other things I mentioned): there is an electric fireplace in the lobby with some chairs next to it...it looked welcoming and I thought it'd be nice to sit there since it's been pouring rain the last few days. I asked when it gets turned on because I'd like to enjoy it and was told that it broke a few years ago and management never fixed it. I've managed hotels in the past. With my experience this is classic ownership hoarding the money and not taking care of their property or their employees. I don't know the owners or management, but I can bet that all of the employees at Pavilion Inn probably make minimum wage or just a couple bucks over. Many things are wrong with this hotel and it is NOT OK. Shame on them. Edit: I expect management to reply to this review defensively. Their reply will not change our experience because our experience was just that. Stay elsewhere."
"The best 2-star Inn I have ever seen. The rooms were clean, the heater wasn't so loud it woke you up every time it went on in the night. The bathroom was so clean it sparkled."
"Please Note: Did not stay /canceled as soon as I saw the location in person. We reserved a stay for this location during an emergency. It is me and another female friend of mine traveling on foot. Lone Female travelers/female groups please book elsewhere and avoid this area. Especially if you're on foot like we were. First of all the area is inconvenient, to cross the street you play the game of hoping the cars do not run into you as there are no lights/signals. Plus it's a bit of an ugly area of San Jose. Upon entering the front desk it was dark, a little menacing at first I thought we were on a set of a terrible cheap horror film. It wasn't dirty but the vibes were basically -"we have no public restroom available, ignore the lights being turned off behind me" from the clerk. She was friendly however when we later expressed our need to cancel as the inn's location was pretty terrible for us. She seemed adamant that cancellation is a no-go and didn't really care for our safety concerns. Please stay at the holiday inn (or any other decent inn/hotel), while more expensive- I felt safer/ more comfortable and genuinely cared about at the Holiday Inn nearby. I say this as a woman to another one. The holiday inn has public transportation right in front of it. In this place, you have to make a 5-10 min walk in a slightly sketchy area to get to something."
"I have no complaints after a two-night stay. My room was very clean, quiet, and I appreciated the recently updated furniture and fixtures. Everything felt well cared for and didn't feel cheap or worn down. The staff was polite and helpful."
"Pros: The staff was excellent: very professional and friendly. The location was convenient to the places we needed to go with easy freeway access. Besides having some problems with noisy neighbors, the rooms were relatively quiet especially with being right next to the freeway. The rooms, bathrooms, and linens were very clean. There is no cleaning service during your stay, but we actually prefer this. They left us with plenty of towels for our 5-night stay, and if you want new ones, you can just exchange them at the front desk. The beds were firm, but comfortable. Cons: Our refrigerator was not cold enough even though it was turned to maximum cooling. There is also not a freezer section if that's important to you. Unfortunately, we had noisy neighbors in the middle of the night during 3 of our 5 nights. It was a complicated situation, but the manager was very apologetic and accommodating. She deliberately left the rooms next to us empty for the last 2 nights."
