"I will say thank you for everything you guys have done for me and many others. The thing I do have a problem with is the profiling the disrespect the lady with the short blonde hair who works the register has towards myself and my lady.she really gives my lady a horrible shopping experience. Not all homeless people are bad. I had to say that. So on another note wanted to say that Larry who runs the back crew is awesome thank you for everything you have done for my self and my lady. When ever I ask him for something he always come thru with it . Larry my lady and I appreciate you.thats all I'm going to say. And thank you Nacey for your hard work and for putting up with us. We also appreciate you."
"Rips off customer. An example is DVDs. They charge Per DVD inside the case, even if the extra disc is note usable. This makes the DVDs in many instances actually cost MORE than buying a new DVD set at retailers. That is a ripoff considering they get the ítem they are selling for free. I know they use money to help support the Church, but not everyone is rich enough to pay more for USED items than new ones. Again, a rip off . Other examples - tools, shoes, cloths, ...."
"I saw an oil painting last week that I liked but thought it was a bit expensive so I didn’t buy it. I went back today surprisingly found out that the painting fell off the frame and I couldn’t put it back on after trying for a while. I was so disappointed. Then I saw a lady staff and told her: "I came here last week and this painting was fine. Now it’s out of frame and I can’t put it back on. But I still like this painting." I asked her if I could get some discount. She said: "We never give discounts." Still with a glimmer of hope, I asked her: "Are you sure?" She said: "Yes! I'm the supervisor!" The look on her face and the tone of her voice were so impatient as if I was an annoying person. After saying that, she immediately walked away. I felt really bad, so I said to her back: "You are mean..." At this time, another lady staff came up to me and said: "What's going on?" I briefly repeated my story. She said: "She is right. We will not give discounts.” The meantime that “supervisor” who just walked away came back and said to her: “that’s what I’ve already told her.” And this lady responded her: “Yeah I know. You are fine. ” Then She said to me: “Can you not talk to her in the future in this way ?” I asked: "In which way?" She said: "You yelled at her!" Oh Please! That's so not true! I didn't yell at her. I just tried to let her know that I did not expect to be treated like this. These ladies who are so-called "volunteers" they don't know how to treat customers. They are supposed to help customers but they seem to be working together to fight against customers. The expressions on their faces are saying to you: you are so annoying, leave me alone! I heard they used to be ok but now seems getting much worse. Be aware that you'll get attitude if you "bother" them!"
"This place is not what it seems. I read their bio, and their reviews. They claim to be non profit, and state that everyone working there is a volunteer. They also claim to have started this business when their founder had spoken with Mother Teresa way back when, and their mission was, and is to help the needy. Now the problem I have with this place is that I came there 2 days ago in need of any assistance that I could receive my situation is beyond dire and It was the only reason I came there. However, when I arrived at this warehouse all of these volunteers that work there look more like they were sentenced to community service than willing volunteering. They all had just miserable looks on their faces. Not one of them knew how to smile and make me feel welcomed. I went and spoke with a woman who seemed to do the enrollment process. I was told that I do not look homeless, and was asked if I could provide proof of my homelessness? Now how exactly does one prove that they are homeless? So basically I was not enrolled and I was told that I needed to provide a letter of recommendation of some sort as if I was applying for Princeton. I was given a 25 dollar gift card, a sleeping bag, and a hygiene bag. Which I am grateful for, however I felt like I was being accused of trying to be some rich cheapskate that wanted free stuff. I never even stuck around for the food drive because someone else told me that it's not worth the public humiliation they put you through to receive it. I still have the gift card and will most likely never return to use it. I will just help myself, I just wanted to let others know what it's like before outing yourself through this pride swallowing spectical. Just at best to shop through some unwashed, dusty clothes that other people wanted to throw away. To me it's not worth it. I may have lost almost everything that I have worked so hard to get but I still have my dignity and I won't be coming back."
"This place is awesome. I went to thrift clothing and the section was very good. I walked away with 2 trench coats, 1 leather jacket, 2 pairs of shoes, 4 sweaters, 2 shirts, and 1 purse for $143 total. I love all the items I found. The only thing I couldn’t find was skirts :( but that’s not their fault."
