"This review is for the emergency department and the infusion departments. The emergency department: In the past 4 months, we have been to the ER probably 10 times. My wife has ALS, so when she gets a plugged airway from mucous she needs deep suctioning. The nurses have been outstanding to say the least. They are professional, caring, and gentle to say the least. The doctors good. They run the needed labs and rays to see if she needs to be hospitalized which we were 4 times in this period. The infusion department is also outstanding. 9 months before all the er visits my wife had to get ALS medication infusions 10 times a month. Again she was treated professionally, gentle and caring. These departments of the Spooner Hospital are a definite asset to our area Thank you!!!!!’"

"Everyone was helpful, friendly, and timely during mom's procedure yesterday. The surgeon gave us plenty of time to discuss the options prior to the procedure."

"Note: My only experiences are with the ER and associated testing areas (radiology, etc.) Within the area, I recommend and will continue to recommend this facility to anyone in the area for emergency needs. I have taken people here, and I have personally had to go a couple times. Every staff member: registration staff, nurses, doctors, lab services, radiology is amazing. Every person I have interacted with at this facility has been kind and compassionate beyond measure. Treatment times are quick, the facility is clean and up to date. It is in a good location, the emergency section is easy to find and identify, parking is easy, and they have up to date equipment to treat any emergency issue. I will continue to go here if necessary and will recommend the facility and employees to anyone in the area. However, I will say that obviously, for some people, that will leave them wondering why 4 stars instead of 5, and I want to be as clear about why. On my last visit, they required a urine test for pregnancy before getting a chest x-ray. I relayed that I had been away from my husband for three months, was on birth control, and was actively on my period and I was still required to take a pregnancy test before getting an x-ray that was necessary considering my symptoms. I have never had to do this for any x-ray at any other facility. As an adult woman, I should be believed, and it is inappropriate for a facility to require a pregnancy test for a medically necessary test as simple as a chest x-ray. I have had urine screens for surgery before, and I can tolerate that, but a urine screen for an x-ray on a patient who can articulate why it is a completely unnecessary test is infantilizing and offensive."
