"We love our new built-in dresser. It was designed with input from Monika, she was incredibly helpful and patient with decisions on size, choice of drawer fronts (plain, shaker, texture [linen]), and hardware. It is a very tall and large dresser, and enough space for our clothing. The only challenge with project was the timeline to have it installed. I dropped a star because their customer service for installation could have been better. I had ok'ed the date of installation via telephone and then missed an email to confirm (no follow-up call or email), so our installation was dropped their schedule and was pushed another few months out. Then it had to be rescheduled again by two weeks because one of their installers was dropped. It was a bit frustrating toward the end because our piles of clothing were packed in boxes and suitcases until installation. Thankfully, CC was able to work with us in the end and their 5-star installer did an excellent job."

"California Closets asked me on several occasions to write a review, so I am posting it with the hope that it will help others. I used them to design and install two bedroom closets as part of a recent whole-home remodel in San Francisco. My experience with Monika, the designer, and the installers was excellent. They were all prompt, efficient and knowledgeable. We are happy with the installed closets. The reason for my 3/5 rating is that we had to reschedule our installation date, which resulted in Cal Closets charging us a "Rescheduling Fee" that was 10% of the total cost of the project. I can certainly understand that schedules and timelines are important, and I appreciate that Cal Closets is busy. However, during our project, we rescheduled and delayed many other services and subcontractors, all without having to pay a rescheduling fee. Ask anyone who's done any remodeling or construction and you'll know that schedule changes and delays are inevitable. To have to pay this fee in the midst of a very complex and stressful remodel honestly felt like extortion. As mentioned, we are happy with the end result. Just be aware that you are dealing with a corporate entity that has their set policies and ways of doing things."

My designer, who has since retired, was thorough in every aspect of the design process. She balanced aesthetics with function and addressed all my needs. My installers were meticulous and called out a few flaws and submitted work orders for replacement shelves and other parts.
