"After being on a 51/50 hold a a local rural hospital I was not wanting to get transferred here. On my 51/50 I was basically in a closet in the er with no bathroom, no food, and no hygiene products whatsoever for 3 days. When I arrived in Unit 1 I was greeted by Will, who was a nurse, and once I told him I hadn’t ate nor showered in 3 days he warmly said” let’s get you a shower and some food.” It was already the evening so I wasn’t sure what to expect out of this place. All I knew was that I was severely depressed, had constant anxiety, and was self medicating with alcohol. Over my stay of about 5 days I felt like I was treated with fairness and compassion but both the floor staff and most nurses. Bogie and Cheryl were 2 staff I connected with the most. They are beautiful souls who definitely are there to help heal people. I will be forever grateful for those two! Some staff do come off like they are constantly annoyed but to be fair that place would and could be a highly stressful job. I never saw any abuse, physical or emotional like some of these reviews suggest. My medication my psychiatrist prescribed have been working amazingly and I feel like I’m living a whole new life with them. I’ve probably needed anti anxiety medication for 15+ years. I know everyone’s experience is different but this place truly helped me in a time I had hit rock bottom and wanted to end it all. So I look at this place and its staff as my guardian angels. Thank you again Cheryl and Bogie, I hope our paths cross again someday."

"I still scream in horror at night for the trauma and the things I've seen the staff do to underage minors here. Do not ever go here. They will hurt you and they will enjoy it."

"I don't know how this place is still in business. I was sent here when I was 11 and I literally still have PTSD from the experience. I can't even bring myself to write about it. What these people do to children is illegal, unethical, and traumatizing. The staff is only there for a paycheck. I wish there was a way to get this place shut down. If you are a parent and are considering sending your child here, just know that they will walk away with more trauma than they came in with."

"I worked at Adventist Health for about 9 months and it was excruciating. The staff is toxic and HR is just as toxic. The staff treated me so horribly and HR didn’t help. I had to get an advocate who reminded HR that they must act in 24 hours if I make a harassment or bullying claim. Unfortunately, my advocate committed suicide so I quit and left that horrible place. It’s hard to fathom how evil they were while claiming they are a Christian institution. This was 9 years ago and I still have bad memories of how poorly I was treated. I was grieving the loss of my 15 year old daughter at the time. They saw it as a weakness, rather than offering compassion, they bullied me terribly."

"I was admitted as a patient in Unit 1. My experience was one I will never forget. The staff were extremely supportive and understanding. I felt seen and heard. They helped me set a foundation to my healing journey. I will forever be greatful for this facility and every single one of the staff."
