"Dishonest people. The hotel renovations are mentioned in the hotel description on the website. If you use the app good luck finding it. I had to change rooms twice in the middle of the night because of the AC not working properly. They apologised and promised me points reward… and that was it. They kept mentioning the points during the entire stay and I kept saying they never arrived. Only the ones for the disturbance and discomfort from the construction. They assured me it will come. So the promised 50k points by Edward were marked on their system as 30k but never ever arrived. Somehow they think it’s normal to pay $350+ for a noisy, dusty room in which you get the water cut at random times without any notice. They are greedy and instead of shutting down and renovations they do it with patrons in so during the day you will have renovations in the adjacent rooms. The room you will get will smell like paint and drywall. Even when the room are renovated the new thermostats are badly positioned and limited in range so your room will always feel warmer than you want it and 65F is as low as it gets on the thermostat. Out of the 4 elevators only 1 is running. For a hotel this size it’s madness. In the morning it takes 5-10minutes to get down. Lobby is on the 3rd floor. The 25$ breakfast is a joke as everything besides the fruits comes dehydrated from a bag, similar to the breakfast in residence inn. Last but not least the pool and lounge are closed. Do not stay here as there are better hotels around. If you need Marriott there’s a westin with an amazing breakfast a few hundred feet away in front of the convention centre. You have also courtyard, Hyat etc For me, Marriott is going downhill lately. I moved from Platinum/Ambasador status to gold and soon to nothing as this is not worth it, the quality is not there and even when they have the chance to make it up, they promise points compensation and then pretend nothing happened"

"First, I'm a lifetime Marriott person. But this Marriott was absolutely terrible during renovations. For one, they're deceptive because they don't tell you the hotel is under total renovation (and "total renovation" is an understatement!) until a day or two before your stay so you conveniently cannot find a room anywhere else. There are NO open restaurants or bars in the hotel (they set up a meeting room with tables and chairs and call it a bar--it is not). Half of the elevators did not work throughout the stay. There is no business center (we were there for a conference) but the front desk kindly offered to print for $1 per page (ha!). During our conference and in the conference area there was constant sawing, drilling, and hammering behind all the temporary walls that had been set up. At one point, the presenter said (to an audience member who asked a question), "I'm sorry, there is so much noise behind me I could not hear you." During the conference breaks in the hallways the noise was so loud you often could not hear the person next to you. The hotel should have NEVER EVER taken on a conference while in this state. Shame on ownership and management for doing so. In fact, they didn't even have enough completed rooms to house all the conference guests. MANY guests were sent down the street to a different hotel, something they did not find out until they arrived. To make it worse, the night before the busiest day of the conference, we all received a note stating the hotel would have NO WATER from 10am to 3pm the next day. WOW! Then, after water was restored, my room had no hot water. When I called, they said I was the "only person" who had reported such issue, yet I talked to others (and have now read other reviews) stating the same thing. If you have a renovation coming up, CALL THE HOTEL! DO NOT STAY HERE IF THE RENOVATIONS ARE STILL GOING ON! Will this hotel be really nice when done? Yes it will. Should it even be open right now? Absolutely not. They should literally refund half the cost to the conference organizers for such a horrible experience."

"Under renovations at the moment with only one working elevator. There is drilling and noise from 7AM to 7PM. I even saw a guy working on the room next door at 10:30PM at night but he was quiet. Luckily I did get a freshly remodeled room which is pretty swanky, but smells of fresh paint."

"Unacceptable stay. The whole hotel is under construction without notice. Pool closed. Construction sounds are loud and present starting at 7am. We are talking drilling directly above the rooms people are staying in. Construction debris when entering and leaving the building. Impossible to work remotely anywhere in the building. Water was shut off during the stay without any inclination of when it would be turned on. All of this without a refund."

"The Renaissance Hotel in Long Beach exemplifies a prime choice for luxurious accommodation, and this is particularly true if you opt for a room with a balcony. Right from the moment you step in, the hotel captivates you with its refined elegance and meticulous attention to detail. Each room is generously sized, features a tasteful decor, and is equipped with a plethora of amenities, all aimed at ensuring the guests' comfort and convenience. The level of cleanliness is commendable, keeping with the highest standards throughout your stay. The highlight, however, is undoubtedly the balcony. Offering stunning views of Long Beach, it serves as the perfect setting to unwind and enjoy the mesmerizing scenery. The service provided by the hotel staff is nothing short of exceptional. Their professionalism, friendly demeanor, and readiness to assist round the clock significantly add to the welcoming ambiance of the hotel. The way they cater to each guest's requirements and work proactively to ensure a flawless stay is truly noteworthy. The Renaissance Hotel Long Beach successfully marries luxury, service, and unrivaled views. It's an ideal destination for those in pursuit of a top-tier hotel experience in Long Beach. It checks all the right boxes and leaves you with an experience not only worth having but also worth reliving."
