"I kayaked through this area. Numerous ecosystems. It was a 9.5 mile paddle, so you'll need a little endurance and some upper body strength. I was amazing!!!!"

"It is a great place to go kayaking, but it is not for everyone. There were about 5 places we had to portage around downed trees and had a few semi-submerged logs to go across. But it was a great time and I'm planning on going back. Long pants and durable water shoes /boots are advised in my opinion."

"Very nice and calm to along the Ghost River Trail. Some of the trail markings are down or hard to see but generally are visible so little worry of taking the wrong turn. Only saw a couple of harmless water snakes, and a white heron out towards mile 6. Had three obstacles in the first two miles; fallen trees which forced us to either exit the boat to go over or around, and once we had to drag the kayak through a short path on to the other side. For the lost part is was fun and relaxing! Highly recommended for amateur to intermediate paddlers, current is slow and gentle!"

"This is a great float through Spirit Lake on the Ghost River. Outfitters are available to rent canoes and kayaks if you need. The water is usually not flowing fast, and there are only a few spots usually that require manuvering or portaging, depending on downed trees."
