"I'm a Nicoya living in Washington state where Nicas are rare, as are Nicaraguan markets/restaurants, so this place was awesome. My sister took us there and I went ham and bought a bunch of rosquillas (Nicaraguan crunchy cookies), queso ahumado (smoked cheese) and queso frito (cheese used for frying, aka "queso frito"). The older lady up front (named Argentina) was super sweet and helpful and pointed us to where things where. If I lived in LA, I'd definitely be a regular here. Even if you're not Nicaraguan, I'd still recommend checking it out and at least trying the rosquillas - they're made of corn masa, crunchy and great for dipping in coffee or just plain. The cheese for frying (aka queso para freir) is also good - slice it into 2 by 2 inch squares and fry it up straight up until it turns slightly red all around...no breading required."
