"This museum is on Sutter St. Which is the main street of Historic Folsom. You come upon it about one short block from the tram station. It's easy to miss because it's tucked back from the sidewalk and looks like another storefront. This is a great starting point for anyone visiting to see this gold mining town because you learn about how it became a gold mining town, why it was named Folsom, and how it has fared as a city right up to present time. It is very small . The exhibits are very interesting and well presented, and some are interactuve. The difficulty I had, and a contributing factor to my rating, was the difficulty in reading the exhibit placards because so many were down low. The museum shop is small but nice with some interesting objects. Cost is $9 and $8 for seniors. The second factor for the rating was the loud personal conversation that the museum employee had that lasted a good part of my visit. Since the space was small, the conversation was distracting. But, highly recommend going."

"I just wanted to thank the amazing volunteers at this museum! I visited today with my 4 young kids, and they had a total blast. The volunteers were so kind, welcoming and helpful. The kids had so much fun with touring old trains and homes, gold panning, pumping water and learning instruments. The kids loved everything and actually learned a lot. Entrance is by donation, which is incredible considering everything the kids got to do. I wanted to write this review in hopes more people will come and support this great place!!!!!"
