About the Business

Seaside Park is a beautiful and welcoming park located at 1401 Chestnut Avenue in Long Beach, California. Spanning 2.5 acres, this park is not only a tourist attraction but also serves the local community with supervised after school programs for youth ages 5-14. The park features a variety of activities such as sports, games, tournaments, crafts, homework help, and more.

Formerly the site of Seaside Hospital, the park now stands as a testament to the history of the area. The hospital was the vision of Dr. A.C. Sellery and served the community for many years before closing in 1960. Thanks to the efforts of County Supervisor Don Knabe, the City of Long Beach was able to acquire the site and develop it into the beautiful park it is today.

Seaside Park is funded by various sources including the City of Long Beach, Community Development Block Grants, Open Space Bonds, and more. The park features two stunning murals by artist Jose Loza, adding to its charm and character. With amenities such as beaches, shade structures, a soccer field, staff office, play equipment, and restrooms, Seaside Park is the perfect destination for families and visitors alike.

Whether you're looking to enjoy a day in the sun or participate in one of the many activities offered, Seaside Park is a must-visit destination in Long Beach. Don't miss the opportunity to explore this historic and vibrant park in the heart of California.

"The park is ok, it is close to my house but they don't have swings."

"Pretty shady spot, and I don't mean from the sun. Usually a few unhoused people hanging around. On my last visit the security guard across the street was yelling at someone on his phone to "come see him"... Just a shifty vibe overall."

"There are many things to get into on your own or if you have children. It's clean , the maintenance and up keep is a very nice change from some parks. Toys for the kids are well kept , it's a great place to jog or exercise, take the family and Happy Father's Day."
