"The food itself is kind of good, what I don't like, they are what the cashier charges you, I ordered a super vegetarian burrito, obviously it has everything, I told her to please put the guacamole and the cream on the side, and I told her that I wanted a jalapeño, then the 15 dollar burrito became 23 dollars, I don't know what the hell she overcharged me by 3.50 for the guacamole and 3.50 for the cream, but the super burrito already has it, they took away the cream and the guacamole on the burrito gave me 7 extra dollars for adding what I already had, I paid but the truth is I was very angry because they always do that thing and charge more, I hate that about those uneducated cashiers, because they still talk bad to you."

"Shopped today at Chavez. Both the kids who helped me behind the meat counter and the kid who did check out provided GREAT customer service. I was looking for a country sparerib cut at the meat counter. I didn't see them and asked the meat counter guy if they carried them. He didn't know the answer but quickly asked the butcher. Apparently, that cut of pork is not something you find in Mexican groceries. The butcher assured me he could probably create the cut if I showed him a photo. I didn't want to work that hard. I thanked both guys for trying to help me out. I didn't get the names of the meat counter guys, but the register guy is Rogelio. Rogelio is the kind of person you wish you could deal with in all your customer service interactions - a SMILER, easy going, patient and attentive - GOOD VIBES. Thank you Chavez guys for the quality customer service you provided today. Much appreciated."

"One start because it is extremely expensive. Yes, the food is of great quality but it is too much money for food. It is not as clean as one may expect, and most of the staff members are not friendly. Safeway like prices. One star because everything is very expensive. The store looks clean."

"I ordered catering from Chavez for a Game Night with some friends. I sent a family member to pick up the food before his shift for work. They asked if this was everything, and the person working the counter said yes. I was missing half of my order. After a quick call that led to coming in the next day, I made do with what I had. The manager was on break when I arrived and asked if I would take a gift card and a call back from the manager later after they looked into it. Receiving a call later that ended with them saying that I should be happy that I at least got the gift card since their calculations showed that I would have gotten less for missing half of my order. Great store. Great food. I would go again for the food and to shop, but never again will I do catering with them."

"I stopped by from across town looking for my favorite bakery item and was disappointed to see that it was not in stock. It is the triangle turnovers filled with custard and topped with sugar."
