"This is a fabulous company to do business with. They really do care about their customer service. We experienced this first hand. We had two separate issues ( that cost the company time and money) however they were more concerned about us the customer than their bottom line. I give a big thank you shout out to James sales person to Jose the installer, Jan and Evelyn customer service. There are many flooring companies. However Bixby plaza carpet and flooring are truly superior in there field. Regards Bob & Jan : Seal Beach"
"Prices are extremally high. Please shop around and you will see first hand. Very Very Poor customer service!!! Lack of transparency. Bait and switched. Once I had the product, the owner, Daren, came up with excuses. Never should have done business with this company....and nor should you."
"After going to another carpet place who flaked on me..I went to Bixby Plaza Carpet and was extremely happy. James was knowledgeable and very helpful picking out sample for me to take home...a few days later after he measured I put in an order for the carpet. Jesus installed my carpet with outstanding work ethics...he cleaned as he worked and was very precise with the installation...recommend highly!"
"Bixby installed waterproof vinyl flooring throughout our 625 sq ft, 1-bedroom condo plus baseboards and crown molding. Overall, we were disappointed in the quality of the work done and in the follow-up. We expected high-quality work from a smaller, local business, whose installers are employees. What we were happy with: Cheryl came out to take measurements very soon after speaking with her. We ordered the crown molding at the last minute and Cheryl worked it out so that we could have all of the work done at the same time. They were able to complete the job by the time we needed it done. Edgar and his crew were pleasant and on time. Our issues with the installation: 1. Marked-up walls requiring a lot of repainting: We were on a time crunch to get the work done and paint, so we decided to paint beforehand because soon after our installation dates, we had to move in. After the work was done, there were many marks and a nick that needed to be spackled. They came back to do touch-ups and spackle, but many marks were left, and unfortunately, I still had to do many touch-ups and paint whole sections of wall again. We did expect some marks because that happens, nobody's perfect, but there were many marks on every single wall. 2. For me having to cancel 2 classes (I’m a tutor) because I needed time to repaint 3. Scratch on the floor in the bathroom, which they tried to fix with a wood filler after we asked; it is visible but better. 4. Planks not cut to fit properly in some areas & many caulking issues: One plank at a doorway threshold was not cut flush and they tried to fill in the gap with caulk, which did not match the wood and was not even with the floor. The workers came back and fixed it with white caulking, which made it look ok. There were other doorway thresholds that were done well, but many planks at the doorways weren't cut flush and were patched with caulk instead of recutting; this caulking was more often than not done messily and different colors of brown caulk were used. There was white caulk dropped on the walls in a few spots. Also, we painted our ceilings blue and there are places where we have to touch up because the caulking was spread too far into the blue paint. 5. For me having to help carry materials: The installers did not realize for some reason that we lived in a high-rise and therefore didn't bring a dolly/hand truck. I helped them carry the baseboards and crown molding to and from the freight elevator. How Bixby handled the issues: Therefore, we asked for the total job to be $6000 instead of $6936. Cheryl said that they do not usually discount jobs but try to fix the issues. However, they tried to touch up the paint, but missed most of the marks so we repainted to get the work done before moving in. Ripping up & recutting planks to fit in the doorway thresholds is not an option; we now have no room for the equipment and have no desire for dust to get all over our stuff. We needed the job done right the first time. So now they can only fix the caulking around the doorway thresholds, but if you want something done right, you do it yourself. We don’t trust that they will caulk neatly and not scratch up our walls again. Cheryl’s boss, Robin, offered us $250 for our trouble, but we were not satisfied, so we asked her to reconsider. We were out of town at the time, and she also wanted to schedule a time to come by when we returned home to see the issues herself and further discuss a larger discount at that time. We weren't interested because the only issue left to fix was the caulking. Also, Armando had already come out to see the issues, and I had sent pictures, emailed, texted and talked on the phone with Cheryl before speaking to Robin. I did not feel like repeating myself again. They should have known what our issues were already; I had clearly laid them out. So she gave us $400 off (making the total cost about $6500) and apologized. We do not feel that we got our money’s worth due to the combination of several issues, and we would not recommend working with Bixby."
