"Avoid this place at all cost. The people here will scam you to make you think there are several issues with your car. They will especially take advantage of you if you know nothing about cars. PROTECT YOURSELF & YOUR ELDERS! For a long time they scammed my dad. Like why do you need to change a vehicle alternator every year, esp waiting after the year warranty ends. They also claimed to have changed parts but upon our own inspection they didn’t change jack. Mind you the vehicle they so called fixed never had any issues before coming here. Not to mention the vehicle barely racks any miles in a year. Yeah they claim to put original parts but most likely they picked it from the junkyard. Thousands of dollars wasted on unnecessary repairs. If the owners are reading this expect legal action."

"Save yourself time/money by avoiding this place!! This place has scammed my parent multiple times. They do more damage then actually fixing the issue. The mechanics here do not know what they are doing and purchase cheap parts and from junkyards. On my parent's car they changed unnecessary parts that was never related to the issue, which only caused other components to get damaged in the process. SO PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF TIME/MONEY BY AVOIDING THIS PLACE!"

"Just had my Mustang timing belt and break lights fixed at Gapo Motor Works and it was a great experience. I found this business when i was looking for a car stereo at the car audio shop next to them in the same lot last week. I noticed that they were friendly and it is a mom and pop local family business so i decided to keep them in mind. The owners George and Edwin both of them mechanics were very friendly and accommodating. They were also honest and charged a fair and good price for the service. The owners wife who works in the back that handles the payment and check out was a very sweet lady. I felt that i got a good service and the work done to my car was honest and the price was great. I was expecting to pay two to three times the price i paid because of the other quotes that i got from the other big known names car repair shops in town that i usually go to. It is even worse when my wife is the one that takes the car for repair. Those big name car repair shops always tells her she need to have work done to the car that is not necessary. On top of that they don’t do the job right. But Mr. George gave me a good price and my wife and i were pleasantly surprised. They have certainly earned my business and i will take my cars to them again from now on. If you need an honest and reliable car mechanic in Chula Vista, I recommend you go to Gapo Motor Works. They will treat you right and not ripp you off."
