"Horrendous service, operations processes, and technology. I hold my mortgage with them and so far their app and digital payment systems has been dysfunctional and ended up telling me my rent was being drawn and paid while it actually wasn’t. When I go to correct the issue no one actually knows how to help me and all I’m told is “I’m sorry they’re training for another branch”…but constantly. All while the manager refuses to make eye contact or assist the trainee. Let’s now get to my business account, so far I’ve been mailed a check because they “upgraded” their systems and in reality turned off everyone’s autopay and when I try to turn it back on they say I have to pay a fee to enable autopay. Aforementioned check they sent (thank god I didn’t deposit this check with my name on it) I was told that thank goodness I didn’t cash it because I would have been at fault. I will be moving my business account from this shoddily run institution and they should give thanks to somebody that I can’t really refinance my home because I totally would if it meant getting away from y-12 federal credit Union."

"Have been members over 20 years. When you called in you gave your account # and password to do business. September 2023 their policy changed; You have to call, tell them your phone # so they can text you, give you a code. You have to read them the code, IF you can receive texts while you are on the phone. Spouse called to pay on a card. Because we have Star Trek phones (have two ATT smart phones - Too cheap to pay exorbitant monthly fees gave us free - under the bed in boxes) we cannot receive texts while we are on the phone. Teller said their policy was changed from taking your account #/code word to the current call, text client code, then client gives code information to teller THEN they will help you - code words are now obsolete. We have to call, leave a message with our phone #, THEN they will call you back and help you with your transactions. Usless, unnecessary, discriminatory, unsecure, policy. "Everybody has a smart phone" was the reason we were given behind their new policy. We like to save our money to spend on food, vacations, clothes. It is BAD fiscal planning to force a person to drag their phone out of our boxes, push our phone bill up (have seven lines) more than it is just to do my banking business. Called NCUA to file a complaint and was told we had to discuss our complaint/problem with Y - 12 before we could file a complaint. Complaint will be filed on 10/10/23. Think hard before joining this credit union. Unsafe access conditions just to get in your account. Discriminatory behavior toward fiscally responsible clients and older clients."

"Y12 offers a very friendly and pleasant atmosphere while banking. The tellers are always kind and inviting. I appreciate talking to them and seeing a friendly face every time I visit the Powell branch. I have similar experiences with Y12 FCUs location at Clinton Hwy and Callahan."
