"This place is a boyond rediculous and definitely have their priorities in the wrong place. My child went to school here for less than a year and that was enough. They were all the time asking for money and pretty much demanding that the kids did their "fund raising". The latest thing that they were doing was coupon books and required that each student sell AT LEAST three and do you know what the money was going to be used for...an electronic sign for the front of the school. I find this rather rediculous because this proves students are not first priority. The very first day of school my daughter came home with a school supply list that cost over $50 for me to get everything on the list, she also told me that there was pretty much nothing on the play ground but swings but they were so tall she couldn't even get in them. She has also informed me that she has to pay for packets of ketchup at lunch...are you kidding me. You want an electronic sign to show off but you have kids having to pay for ketchup but owe yes an electronic sign, THAT'S what you NEED and you think that's ok... They NEED not to have to pay for ketchup and they NEED not to have to pay so much for school supplies especially if the school can afford a fancy electric sign serving no purpose. My child absolutely hated it here and thats not like her to hate school. She is VERY smart, quiet, and respectful and she has came home crying before saying she doesn't want to go back when at her old school she had perfect attendance and loved going to school. She has told me that some boy in her class steals stuff from her desk and calls her a fu**ing b**ch on a daily basis and she even went to get her ice cream money for lunch one day and it was gone and she is basically told to ignore him. She says the librarian is very hateful and she almost peed on herself because she refused to let her go to the bathroom after she asked her twice. In truth the only thing she liked here was her male teacher who was the only one she said was nice to her. They never took field trips..NOT ONE..NOT EVER the students were NEVER rewarded with ANYTHING. You would think with all the money they are making from the fundraising to afford useless stuff they could afford to keep the kids entertained in learning by rewarding them book it tokens for reading or a pizza party for collecting boxtops for education, which by the way they don't even partisipate in, which if their needing money so bad they should be participating in. Now I know why this is one of the worst schools in the district and it has nothing to do with the students. They never notify parents when there is no school. They expect them to just be mind readers because there too cheap to print out the days there is no school to hand out. It was apparently fall break and we waited at the bus stop an hour with no bus showing up only to find out there was no school that day. They had not sent a note home or called or anything..owe but they can send out voice messages when they need something. The most simple things they can not do. This school is a JOKE. They dont even have holiday parties. This school is horrible and I really can't believe that things were so bad here that my daughter cried not wanting to go to school and I eventually had to take her out not even half way into the school year because I could see keeping her there was damaging her emotionally. This school is so rediculous that she went into third grade knowing how to multiply and some of how to divide and came out knowing even less because what she knew was not even being taught yet. Pathetic. I honestly feel so sorry for any child that HAS to go here because we tried forever and the board of education is just as terrible here. They REFUSED that my child attend a better school."

"Norwood School was the Best School ever. I had Mrs. Long when I went there. Gosh must have been 1961-62? She even me gave me private reading lessons. A wonderful woman. Now I live in California but this was a great School. It has its "act' together! Thank YOU NORWOOD and KNOXVILLE schools for giving me my start in life. Sherry Norman b.8.1.53"
