In the beautiful town of Barrio Nuevo in Marquelia, Guerrero, Mely Diaz was born, inheriting the culinary art of three generations. She learned the secrets of exceptional birria from her father and the traditional mole from her mother. After a long career in the restaurant industry, Mely ventured to California and now at La Costenita de Guerrero, she shares the flavors of her homeland. Mely has fused her family's legacy with her passion for cooking, creating a business that transcends borders and generations. Each dish served, from birria to mole to pozole and more, carries the essence of Marquelia and its culture.

We offer the famous pitaya, a delicacy that is only available for a few months each year, as well as fresh or ripe mangoes depending on the season. Our dishes are served with handmade tortillas, rice, and beans, and include consomé with bone-in meat. We also offer fresh chicken, tamales nejos, and handmade tortillas.
