"Mountain View Dentistry is a beautifully renovated dental office in Calabasas with top notch equipment that has been under new ownership since February of 2020 by a highly skilled, honest, and personable dentist, Dr. Roger Gershfeld, who is a perfectionist! He’s highly experienced and has such a gentle touch that I did not even feel when he injected my gums to numb them without even using the numbing gel! What sets him apart from the rest of the pack of dentists is his passion for his incredible and tedious cosmetic dentistry work such as my new and beautiful 8 veneers on my upper teeth! He had gifted me the most beautiful lifetime smile and I'm above and beyond grateful! His own words on cosmetic dentistry to me were: "Cosmetic dentistry is my passion. It's dramatic and it changes lives." He also has done a remarkable job on my crown, filling, and made a comfortable night guard for me because I grind my teeth. "I have been a patient of Dr. Schechter for years and I adored him. Since he retired and the new team has taken over however, I find that their willingness to get to know the existing patients and make us feel like staying has been lacking, at best! I recently went in for my routine cleaning and found that my old trusted and loved hygienists are no longer there. Instead, I got a perfectly adequate and professional cleaning by a young woman who did not stop talking the entire time! She wore a headlamp instead of the usual dental lamp while she worked, and if I tried to look at her to respond to her chatter, I was literally BLINDED by the headlamp! I had to keep my eyes tightly shut to avoid the glare and I just wanted it all to be over. In the past, Dr. Schechter would always at least stop into the room to say hello, but this time, no dentist was ever seen. In my previous visit, the new dentist DID come into the room and recommended a night guard, which I purchased, but she never introduced herself and to be honest, I couldn’t tell you her name or pick her out In a lineup! I wasn’t even clear if she was the dentist or an assistant! I miss the personal touch Dr. Schechter gave to his patients and he is sorely missed. Perhaps this new team has their own patients and don’t really care about retaining the old ones, but for this “old one,” it appears to be the case."
