Custom Dental

"I don't like to complain and I took a long time before deciding I wanted to write this review. As someone that works in the medical field I understand things go wrong that are outside of our control all the time. However, I made multiple attempts and visits to try and let this staff redeem themselves and I always left disappointed and somehow made to feel like there was something wrong with me. As a family man I have always prioritized my family's needs above my own and therefore have neglected my own care, and I understand since it had been about 3 years since I had been to the dentist (moved back from Monterey where I received regular dental care) I was going to need some work. What I didn't appreciate was the snarky and rude comments from one of the dental assistants about my teeth. I do brush at least twice a day and floss regularly (carry tooth brush and flossers in my backpack to work), but I do have some tricky spots where teeth are a little crooked. Aside from that I made it very clear what I wanted to do with my teeth and though I know certain things needed to be done in a certain order, they never prioritized what I actually wanted to get done or get around to it at all. More than once I had to tell the Dr. what the appointment was supposed to entail for that visit, even though the front had me sign for what I was to be billed that day. I cracked a tooth in beginning of October, replaced my cleaning appointment for an evaluation for the tooth since they had no room in their schedule for an emergency visit, otherwise I would have waited a month for another one, and even though I got the necessary root canal less than a week later, didn't get a temporary until late November and my permanent until just before Christmas. Lack of time management - They called me to come 15 minutes early and I obliged but ended up waiting until 15 minutes past my original appointment time, which isn't a big deal but when I'm 2 minutes past my appointment time I'm guilted and wait no less than 10-15 minutes anyway. Front desk staff, outside of one of the 3 girls I met, were not very welcoming or friendly any time you walk in. One is pleasant and good at deescalating situations. The Dr. doesn't have a gentle touch when numbing your gums. I have a high pain tolerance and never had it hurt like this before from any other dentist. The second dentist that worked with me was much more careful with his injecting. Equipment also went down and never got around to my primary reason for coming in after my cleaning due to running out of time. It was at that point I decided I would not be back again. My wife, who worked in dental offices for 10 years was appalled by the care I received and was very upset that I continued seeing them as long as I did, but I wanted to attribute it to them just having a bad day or two and not wanting to take it as a reflection of the business as a whole, I also didn't want to go through the trouble of starting new care with someone else. In the end I just never felt any accountability on their part and after probably 6 or 7 visits, I maybe only once came out with a positive experience."

"I've been going here for almost 5 years. They're great. The receptionists are always really nice. The hygienists and dentists are great. I also take my son here and have since he was a little over 1. They were very patient with him because he was scared the first few times he went. He would cry and I would have to hold him tightly so they could work on him, but that was better than having to sedate him. Now he doesn't mind going. I highly recommend Custom Dental."

"We’re a retired military family and have had our share of different experiences with many different dentists from coast to coast and even overseas. We love coming to Custom Dental. I feel like the staff really cares about us as patients. They actually take the time to talk to us about our oral hygiene. I’ve been coming here since 2018 and have not had a bad experience. I’ve never wait longer than 10min for my appointment. The ease of scheduling or having to reschedule in a timely manner is great compared to other places. Im very happy and fortunate to have found this place."
