"Let me tell you about this place. One thing I bet you don't know is that, for veterans of the military seeking treatment or recognition by the VA, almost no physical therapy office in Middle Tennessee is willing to do the necessary evaluations and treatment. Like, nowhere. And I've called them. Not only does Select do the evaluation, but Nell and everyone at the office were so wonderful about seeking out ways to make it happen (as opposed to everywhere else that sought a reason to prevent it from happening). The evaluation I had to get done was painful and overwhelming due to some old Marine Corps injuries that haunt me, but Kevin- the therapist who conducted the test- was so kind and supportive. He was thorough but understanding, and was able to tell when I had reached my limit even when my natural instinct would have been to push myself beyond my capacity. Coming face to face with my injuries, and really recognizing my limitations, was incredibly difficult physically and emotionally, but Kevin was so patient and gentle and kind- and clearly extremely knowledgable and experienced in this field. While I was there I was able to witness the staff interacting with all sorts of other clients- from strong middle aged muscular men to a grandma to a blind client- and each therapist was kind, supportive and caring. Whenever I am able to actually get treated for my injuries, I am going to make the extra drive to Select for PT specifically because of this. For all of these reasons, I cannot recommend Select enough, and I thank them for putting their actions behind what for others is hollow sentiment and actually supporting the troops. "Irna Beckham is my therapist. She is truly insightful and explains goals and methods for improvements as well as explains the intention behind any exercises she ask you to perform. She’s very attentive and does a spectacular job at tailoring her methods to your individual needs. The Springfield location is pleasant as well. Things are neatly organized and everything appears to be sanitary. The desk staff present themself in a professional manner and are actively engaging as soon as you enter the door. You’re not going to be waiting for long periods of time. The appointment times are very accurate."
