"I consulted with Dr. Choy about a front tooth with a root canal, crown and a broken fiber post. He felt that the tooth wall was too thin to attempt to drill out the post and replace the existing crown. I went back to the dentist in Washington DC who had fitted the crown and fiber post that snapped off (when I was extracting marrow from a chicken bone.) For free, he installed a new post, titanium this time, and managed to re-use the crown. It has held for four month and seems likely to last for years. Dr. Choy recommended going the periodontic practice of Mike Jee and Grace Ng for an implant that entails a healing period of up to a year. That meant leaving a missing tooth in front, or having a problematic retainer having a single fake tooth, and a new crown, at an expense of at least $4000. The initial consult with Dr. Choy was inexpensive. I'm giving him a "good" rating, but I was very happy that I went back to the original dentist, who essentially warranted his earlier work and was willing to perform a fix that could end up being quite durable, with far less inconvenience and cost."
