"This hotel was nice, refreshing and relaxing. It was easy to get lost but they did provide everyone with a map with your room key. Nice restaurants and shops. It had everything you needed indoors including a library. It's like a perfect escape from reality. Definitely worth visiting. Update 3.2.24 I am updating due to a double charge. So when I checked into my hotel I gave my credit card to the representative for the $225 hold they put on your account for incidentals. They asked if I had driven and I told them yes, I parked in the self parking lot. Which was about $37+ a day. I didn't move my car my entire stay as I had other transportation to get around while there because I was with a group. Anyhow when it was time to leave I dropped my keys in the box for keys for checkout which sits in front of the lobby desks. I went to my car and I scanned the QR code on the ticket I received when I entered the parking lot when I arrived, to pay for my parking fee which was $121 for three days. Ok no problem. Only to see a few days later the same charge hitting my account but this time from the hotel. Being that I paid the fee in order to exit the parking lot. I knew it had to be connected as the price was similar just a penny difference. I contacted the hotel and they apologized for the mishaps and said I should receive a refund within 7-10 business days. We are still in that period so I haven't received the refund yet. However, I thought to share this because this may be happening to others and to help others avoid this inconvenience. If the hotel had to be the one that received the fee for the parking during check in they should have stated you need to check out with them to pay your parking fee. I understand if you had valet services but if you used the self parking, that should be clear. So one wouldn't be double charged. So if you're staying here I would ask about that to avoid the inconvenience of having to dispute a duplicate payment on your account."
"The Gaylord is a beautiful hotel and a great location for our conference. It is ultimately too far away from downtown to enjoy Nashville. There is an extremely religious vibe to the campus, and even though there are bars and delicious restaurants throughout, there was an agenda. The room was fine and clean, terrace and garden view was nice. Doors to the bathroom and closet are too close together, and everything bumps together every time one opens a door. The shower drain was broken. On my last day, I had a 12 pm. checkout, and housekeeping banged on my door 3 times after I had requested to be left alone. There isn't a grocery or pharmacy close by, so either plan on driving or paying 3 times as much for anything you need."
"Enjoyed my stay at the Gaylord - am here for a conference. It's massive, beautiful and a plant lovers delight. A stream meanders through the middle with vegetation all around. Know that you will walk - a lot - and there are lots of stairs to navigate if you don't figure out the somewhat tricky pathways. They do have helpful staff positioned strategically to help guide you when you get lost (and you will). I had it all down by the end of day two but did 10k steps today and never went outside. My room was nice, but far and I definitely would ask for something near the courtyard if I'm ever back here. Housekeeping never showed up until around 4 each day so there's that. If you are here for a conference, bring the family if you can...lot's for them to do. Great variety of places to eat without leaving the building. It's like a mini theme park (but nice). Fantastic gym and pool."
"Left a book in my room that given to me for Christmas. Went to the front desk and the attendants were useless and of no help what so ever. Instead of jumping into action, I was handed a form to describe my book left in my room less than an our before & told "hopefully" it would be turned in & mailed to me. I replied I'm here now & so is my book, please help me find it and was told there was nothing that they could do. My wife & I decidedly returned to the floor our room was on & began tracking down maids and in a few minutes time, found the maid who cleaned the room, found & got my book back and went and was able to leave happy. I have nothing but praise for the maids who cared enough to help! This is something the FRONT DESK SHOULD HAVE BEEN ABLE TO EASILY DO FOR ANY GUEST, I shouldn't have had to take matters in my own hands to find a book left behind in my room less than an hour before. This is horrible front desk service for a 300-400+ a night hotel. The rest of my stay/experience was very pleasant. The hotel is indeed a sight of beauty. Update 1/29/24: Was contacted by corporate offices regarding this matter, they agreed there was more that could & should have been done. They assured this would be addressed & refunded a fair portion of the room cost as compensation for the hassle. I'm satisfied & thank you - I feel more compelled to stay there again now."
"Absolutely gorgeous place! And massive! Didn’t stay here but had to come in to visit and look around because of how pretty it looked and definitely left happy. The multiple greenhouse/atrium style areas were insane. You could spend hours in here alone and be satisfied with all of the plants, decorations, and art designs. We took the boat tour and it is highly recommended! Very funny jokes paired with historic facts made it feel like a Disneyland type of ride. The shops were great and provided tons of walking around and browsing. Overall loved it here and would highly suggest checking it out"
