"We love HHDS! Our daughter started back in the summer and it has been the perfect fit. All of the teachers are very nice and Chandler always has different activities planned for the kids. Communication is also very good."
"I absolutely love this school the teachers and The owner are amazing they take really good care of the children.I love knowing when I drop my babies off they are safe and in good hands. I love the different activities they offer for the children and the daily communication. If I have any questions or concerns Chandler is always quick with an answer or a resolution. If you are looking for a fun, safe school for your children I would definitely recommend Hermitage Hills Day school !"
"I have been so pleased with our experience at HHDS! Our daughter has been there since the very beginning in the infant room, and now at 2.5 is counting into the teens regularly, saying and recognizing her ABCs, and more importantly genuinely excited to go to school. The director and teachers alike are so personable and supportive of not just the child attending, but their families as well. I love that it feels like the neighborhood childcare center, and not a corporate chain. We have truly experienced dedicated attention and care for our girl in each classroom she's been in during our tenure thus far, and I am so thankful to have found this little local gem!"
"My experience has been excellent! My son attends school here and has expanded his vocabulary and recognizes more shapes than the standard 4/5 year old. His teachers love him and the staff knows all the children by name. Any updates or need to know memos are communicated effectively, and reminders are given in case you haven’t seen emails / app notifications. Cleanliness is key and at this school, they check the box! No issues as an active attending parent and I would 100% recommend Hermitage Hills Day School."
"Did not have a good experience at this school. This school is not equipped to handle hyper active children and is very authoritarian wanting children to act as they would in grade school as opposed to their young age and everyone is expected to be your “friend”. I had a good experience in beginning, but then when the teachers began to have a power struggle with my 3 year old child I began getting bad reports daily from the school on his behavior. These reports were stressful as a parent as you want your child to do well and rarely did we see praise reports after this. The school then wanted me to seek outside behavioral help for my child and go through the county school system for therapy and encouraged medication if prescribed. After receiving help from his pediatrician and several talks with his teachers we still were not seeing improvement and his behavior was getting worse. I noticed my son was getting bullied by other kids yelling that my son had a bad day when I would go to pick him up. I also noticed teachers yelling across the room for him to clean up a mess and not to other children who were playing next to him. My son was in an excellent school before this where behavior was almost non-existent. I thought it may be a phase he was going through. One afternoon I was called demanding to pick up my son and that he would not be able to return to school after this. School did not follow policy, would not allow my son to finish out the week so I could figure out what to do. I was told my 3 year old is an “endangerment to the other children and teachers”. I was also told at this time they wish my son didn’t have to sit out of playground time everyday for his behavior. The day he was dismissed it was because my son was denied his right to go to the bathroom when asked, so he got up in nap time to go, the teacher told him to lay back down and he walked up and hit her, because he had to go potty and they wouldn’t listen. This was also during Summer when everyone is looking for daycare so they could easily replace him. I could not find any schools with opening for a couple months until Aug. my son had to stay at his grandparents for the summer an hour away from us, missing us during the week because we had no other options. We have since started a new school and he is thriving! Have had not a single poor report so far and when I check in, they tell me he is doing everything that a boy his age should be doing. My son is smart, not everyone needs to be his friend as this school was promoting and he is at a place now where he is worked with, made to feel important and not bullied or talked down to. I would also like to add that this school had 21 kids with only 1 adult in the room on a couple of occasions which is against government regulation. They are fortunate I have not brought my son’s case forward, I think this review should do enough. I believe this school needs to focus on age appropriate approaches and let the children be loved in a learning environment where they can feel important."
