Hyatt Place Nashville/Franklin/Cool Springs

"I was visiting Nashville & decided to stay in Hyatt Franklin instead of Downtown. It's a family friendly Hotel in a safe neighborhood. The hotel is in decent shape & clean. Rooms were spacious & clean. The lobby is decent size & the breakfast area has medium size dining capacity. Breakfast: Breakfast was very good, with hash browns, scrambled eggs, bacon, fresh fruits, fresh yogurt, tortillas, oat meal, juices, bread, waffle, bagels & munchkins along with coffee. The front desk staff was very courteous. There are many restaurants & shopping complexes within 3 miles. You need a car. Downtown Nashville/Broadway is about 15-20 minutes drive from the hotel, not bad . I decided to stay in Franklin over downtown Hyatt because the price of the room was almost 70% cheaper in Franklin, compared to the same Hyatt in downtown. I read some comments from the guests complaining that the parking area has less lights. Honestly, they are right but it wasn't that bad or risky. Management should check their elevators, they are not in good shape & making noise (both of them). Rooms are decent but renovation would add more value to it."

"The good: Location is fantastic. Plenty of free parking. Free hot breakfast. Comfortable bed (pillows are very firm which could be good or bad). Helpful, friendly staff. Spacious room. The not so good: In room 103 there’s a large dark brown stain on the carpet in the middle of the front room. Work harder to remove a stain like that or replace the carpet. There were little hard bumps under the sheet, when I pulled the bottom sheet back it was broken bits of some sort of nut. What the heck? The vanity area was remodeled at one point but not finished out, so you can clearly see where the old cabinet was. Wooden shims are jammed in to support the heat/ac unit. Ugly exposed electrical conduit connecting heat/ac unit. At first glance it looks good (except the stain) but the room needs some attention to detail and a serious deep clean. We probably should have asked for a different room but it was late, we were tired."

"Manager was not very considerate as we waited to pick up food from "The Placery". There was no one in the lobby, and certainly no one down there for access to the bar as we waited, but the manager felt the need to remove us from the counter area. Instead of addressing me or my family members directly to ask us to leave the bar area(for whatever their reason was behind the request, since it was not explained to us), the manager turned to my grandmother to tell me and my other family members to sit elsewhere, but said that she was allowed to stay at the counter. We are not children; in fact two of us were an adult and nearly an adult, but the manager chose to infantilize us by not even looking in our direction to tell us to wait for our food elsewhere. They did not bother to confirm whether we were minors or not before asking my grandmother to make us leave the counter. It is understandable to go to a parental guardian to address concerns of a child 10 years or younger. It is rude to treat people between the ages of 16-20 like they are small children. We were not being served any beverages. We were simply waiting there for food after a long trip. Degrading to say the least. Edit: the issue is not at all about the request to leave. It is just the way that it was handled that was poorly conducted, especially since I wasn't even sitting at the counter."

"Good stuff: The staff was lovely and very helpful. The location is great. The room was nice and dark and the room temperature was easy to adjust and maintain. The quick breakfast offerings were plentiful and mostly portable, which is very convenient if you're in a hurry. Not good stuff: The elevators seem rickety and have spongy floors. The hallways are not well-insulated from sound, so amorous couples beware - you will be overheard by anyone walking down the hall (unfortunately, that is not an assumption on my part). The mattress in my room was cupped on the sides with a hard mound down the center, which tells me it's well past its replacement age (it was not restful sleep). The water pressure in the shower was really low until I rotated the shower head to center, which then delivered excessive water pressure (there are only two settings - no in-between). So, great staff, great location, great breakfast, but it's not great for a good night's rest."
