"I booked a reservation that was confirmed for 8am. A family member booked a second reservation for a second car. Enterprise called the family member a few days before to cancel their reservation because they did not have a car for them. The family member asked whether there was a car for my reservation and was told that there was one for mine, which was a more premium reservation. I received no communication about the reservation other than the initial confirmation. At the time of our reservation, 8am, I called to confirm before driving over just in case. I was told that they had written in that we had flexibility from 8am-11am which was not true. I did not indicate this. My family member, who had a different reservation, did not mention my reservation except to confirm that there were cars in my requested class available for me. We were driving across California trying to make it in time for a wedding dinner. There was not flexibility. I was not notified at all. They told me a manager was picking up the car when I called at 8am. I called again at 9:45 to check in on the pickup. They said they were unsure about what was going on with the car at that time. At 10:15, they told us they could not get the car and provided options that were not acceptable, given that we had specifically booked a large SUV to drive a bunch of people with a bunch of luggage to a wedding. We were told this more than 2 hours after the time they had confirmed they were picking up our car for us, and again, with no advanced notice that this would happen on our confirmed reservation. I asked how to prevent this moving forward and was basically told you can’t. They just might not actually have your car, and they might not tell you that until more than 2 hours after your reservation time. If you have to get somewhere, choose another rental agency or location. Call the day before and call the day of as well. Their agents are nice and tried to be helpful, but at the end of the day they just didn’t have our car."
