"I took in my 2016 Honda Pilot that was making a noise from the front driverside wheel and would get louder at highway speeds. Mariano told me it was the wheel hub bearing that needed to be replaced. He quoted me an estimate of $300 for parts and labor. I dropped off the vehicle the next day at 830am and was promised it would be ready by the end of day. I called the shop at around 430pm and he told me that they were unsuccessful in freeing the bearing from the hub assembly and that his mechanic Marvin was putting everything back together so that I could pick up the car. When I arrived to the shop, Mariano explained that they had been working on it all day and that they used many methods such as direct heat with a torch and different presses to try and get the bearing out but were unable to do it. I asked him if I could leave the vehicle at his shop so they can attempt the repairs the next day and he told me no, that he didn't have any space to park another vehicle in his shop. He then told me to bring it in the next day and that he would try another method or replace the entire hub assembly. I asked if it was okay to drive the vehicle in it's current state and Marvin and Mariano both answered at the same time but gave different answers. Mariano immediately gave Marvin a look which made him change his answer and said as long as I don't drive it far, it should be ok. That left me uneasy and I was skeptical to drive the vehicle home but at this point I didn't really have a choice. While driving it to the corner of Atlantic and Clarkson the noise was now worse, the wheel hub was now making an extremely loud grinding noise. I immediately pulled over and call AAA to get towed home. The very next morning I got ahold of my uncle to take a look at it and he noticed the axle nut wasn't even put back on which he said was very dangerous to be driving the car like that and it could've potentially damaged other vital components. Upon further inspection he also noticed that they stripped the threads on the axle which is why they didn't even bother to put it back. We decided to repair it ourselves after watching videos on YouTube and having common hand tools. We ordered a new hub assembly off AutoZone and put it on ourselves. We also purchased an Axel rethreading kit from Napa auto but the threads were damaged beyond repair. Now I am forced to purchase a new axle. Mariano caused more damage than when I took the vehicle to him because of his inexperience and shady business practices. He reached out to me to try to repair it again but there is no way I'm letting him near any of my vehicles. If you value your time and money stay away from MLB repair shop."
