"I lost my key fob when my husband and I were in the process of moving. I called to get a new one. I was quoted a price of $220. I made the appointment. When I went in the guy asked me if I was give a price. I told him yes $220. I heard him say it would be an addtional “$10” for service fee. He asked if I wanted to continue and thought of course. He pulled out the contract and had me sign it. It showed the total price of $430. I realized he must have said an extra 210. I felt pressure to sign and decided not to question it. My mistake. I told him I had another appointment to get to and he said he would check with the technician. I sat in the waiting room for an hour, he never came back. I checked in with the front desk and was told they would see what was going on. Still did not hear any update so I left. Got a call to come back an hour later. When I went to pay the total was over $520. After this whole ordeal I just wanted to get my car back and leave. A few weeks later and I can’t help but feel I was taken advantage of."

"My Ford Maverick has been in service for 3-4 recalls and 6 times for other issues. At 17,xxx miles I decided I was fed up with the truck. I met with Mark to discuss selling to Perry. He offered $25,500 to match the offer I had from Kirby Subaru. I came back later to make the deal and he entered $24,500 into the paperwork without discussing with me. It felt pretty sneaky. He also failed to mention (until I called later in the day) that I would not receive a check for 3-6 weeks. I would have much rather sold to Subaru as now I have to wait for the check to arrive before I can pick up my new car. The whole transaction felt very sneaky and very very untrustworthy. I will never return back to Perry Ford."

"What a great team of hardworking professionals! Thank you Nate and all the other awesome staff for making me feel like family... as always! One of the best places to buy, service and sell a vehicle! Update 11/9 Text message to service manager: Good evening Dan. My lightning has only gotten worse since we spoke. This evening turning into my driveway the front suspension literally squealed. I don't get it bud. The collision shop barely did anything. You guys did the work 3-4 rounds of parts ordering and 2 months without my work truck. Now I'm going to have to give it back to you do to correctly what should of already been done. What am I supposed to drive to work and securely transport my tools and ladders? We've already paid $800 out of pocket for rentals BEYOND the money Geico paid the first time you had my truck. I was really disappointed with Nates customer service and communication as well but that's another conversation I'd rather not have right now. I have to finish a commercial project in the morning on a DEADLINE. At the end of the day can drop off tomorrow but NEED a truck to drive to work on Monday as I'm assuming you're going to have to order a part again. Unless someone simply didn't tighten something down enough... which i would be a little upset but not nearly as upset as losing my work vehicle for another month or two... what's the move? Update 11/17 Ford has taken the Lightning again and is working on fixing the problem... once they figure out what that is exactly... neither Ford or Geico have have offered a loaner or rental vehicle... so that leaves us paying out of pocket and hoping Geico is able to secure a reimbursement from the at fault party's insurance... I'll be holding my breath... on the bright side Dan has been very informative and provides regular progress reports... time will tell how this plays out Update 12/1 Another multiple thousand dollar repair of a steering rack which did NOT fix the suspension issue. Nor has anyone offered a loaner vehicle. $100K for a paperweight! What a deal! Update 12/14 The Lightning is back at the collision shop which they almost immediately discovered a bent frame. How did the Perry Ford service department spend $10,000 replacing the front suspension for nothing and NOT notice that crucial part is the vehicle which would prevent it from driving safely regardless. My wife and 5 month old baby are also innocent bystanders in this 4 MONTH ordeal when i have to shove all my tools as an electrician in my wife's Prius to go to work.... to pay for a truck i can't drive... leaving them without a vehicle during the day. This situation has only gotten worse needing another $15,000 repair and no end in sight. Strongly considering ligation at this point"

"Let me save you some time, this place is fraudulent: I'm a local builder, entrepreneur, long time search and rescue member, and tech geek (currently living globally)... I bought Ford's prepaid maintenance. They refused to honor this, and made me pay for service. They replaced my engine under factory warranty but didn't put all the bolts back in... The AC compressor fell apart and did damage WHILE I was driving it and they wouldn't fix it under warranty. The mechanic even wrote on the repair order that he has never seen something like this happen, and the bolt didn't break, which means it was not properly tightened. The service writer named Grant was responsible for most of these issues, which means responsible for denying me proper service and warranty coverage. New faces, same game. I waited endlessly for them to perform a vehicle recall update for the drive shaft. They never got around to it, so Jim Vreeland Ford took care of it for me in one visit. While I had prepaid maintenance, Perry said everything was fine and nothing needed to be replaced. My next service after prepaid maintenance had run out, just a few days ago, they told me that I need new brakes, rotors, two batteries, and a fuel filter. They quoted 85 for an oil change, and billed me for 210. Go somewhere else. Go somewhere else."

"I'm not sure how they ended up getting to a 4+ star rating. Maybe they used to be a friendly, trustworthy / honest and reliable business but not anymore. Friendly: None of there customer service people I talked to were friendly or courteous by any standards. They also don't seem to know how to use a phone since they keep hanging up in the middle of the call. The only friendly person I had the pleasure interacting with was the guy picking up the vehicle. Trustworthy / honest: Be prepared to get quoted one price for an oil change and then charged a few hundred dollars more. The same "coincidentally" happened with replacing the battery. There was also an engine code I wanted them to look at (I told them what the engine code was) and after running test for a full day they essentially told me "We are not sure but it might be part x. We can order and replace it and then run tests again" ... No! You are a Ford dealership, you should KNOW what needs to be done to fix this problem and not replace parts based on a hunch. On top of that I did some research on my own on the engine code and the part they wanted to replace wasn't on the list of potential candidates. Seems like the Ford techs there don't even know how to use the internets. Reliable: You ask them to do a tire rotation and they 'forget' to update the pressure sensors so I am getting a constant warning about low tire pressure. I have more I can add to this list but the characters number for this review is to low to keep going. If you have the choice ... STAY AWAY FROM PERRY FORD OF SANTA BARBARA."
