CHEN’S Family Dish

"Very authentic flavors from southern China. We were traveling to Medford on business from Hong Kong and wanted to recharge with some comfort food, and stumbled upon this restaurant on Google. The soup noodles are very good with a rich flavorable soup base. The noodles are cooked just right with good firmness and texture. I ordered pho from the menu and it was very good, even though it's not authentic Vietnamese pho and more a Chinese rice noodle with slices of beef, beef balls and the tripe (we would call this triple crown). The soup tastes like Vietnamese pho though and despite not being real pho, it tasted very good and close enough. The spicy Singapore fried noodles tasted very authentic as well. If you can take spicy, ask for a small plate of chilli oil to go with your food. The staff were very friendly and offered attentive service. I observed that they seemed to know a lot of other customers well so suspect they have a lot of repeat diners. Food comes very quickly and portions are generous. The large dining room is comprised of booths and regular tables. Decor is comfortable and clean. Overall a pleasant surprise to find such authentic flavors away from a major city like LA or New York since supply of ingredients may be harder to source. We didn't try many of the other dishes that are more typically found in Americanized Chinese restaurants, but if you want authentic flavors and know what to order, this restaurant can do it. Will surely visit again next time we come through Medford."

"I think this is my new favorite Chinese food restaurant. The food was great and the service was fast and friendly. I really enjoyed the General Tsao's chicken, it was not over-fried and the chicken was not chewy like most places tend to do. I've if our dishes had tofu and it was cooked perfectly, I look forward to trying more dishes at Chen's."

"I had heard so much about a delicious Chinese restaurant located in Medford so I decided to try it. By far the best "Hot n Sour" soup I have ever had. The vegetable dishes are fresh and cooked perfectly. It is consistently the same each time, which we know sometimes varies because of different cooks in the kitchen. Fresh food, not greasey at all. Good, friendly, prompt service. IMHO it's the best Chinese restaurant in So Oregon."
