"I’ve been going to open rice since undergrad and never had issues with food OR service. I recently moved to Sacramento and was in Davis so I decided to go to open rice. Idk who the new girls that are there if they were hired recently or since I’ve left Davis but their service was DISGUSTING. Not only did they ruin my order and I had to drive BACK from sac, she was rude on the phone when explaining my situation because SHE couldn’t hear my name. In addition, when I got there they still had an attitude as if messing up my order and me not being able to enjoy my food for almost an hour because I had to drive to and from to replace it. Didn’t offer an alternative or anything and just handed me back my food that was COLD so it had been sitting there. I’ve worked in the restaurant industry so I understand but this was BEYOND just rude like as if I was inconveniencing them."
"Nice place for cheap food. Sometimes the food comes out fast other times it takes a second but it’s the best place to get food when you’re a college student. Boba is decent, not the best but it’s under $3. The nicest staff, they make an effort to remember regulars names"

"The food portions are insane for what you pay. I got the Pork Belly Fried Rice for only $8! I ate half of it and felt super full. You definitely can get 2 meals out of this. Excited to try more things from their menu!"
"Affordable but nothing to write home about. The staff could use more training or supervision. They were nice but had no sense of urgency. The line was almost out the door and the line waiting for food was about the same. The staff we’re having fun and joking with each other but it was causing lots of mistakes in ordering. The kimchi rice was ok but my order of Thai fries ( think that’s what it was called) was disappointing. The fries were bland and reminded me of what is served in a high school cafeteria. They need to change brand."
