Active Culture is a vibrant, counter service café located at 111 South El Camino Real in San Clemente, California. Our belief is that healthy food can taste amazing, which is why we use whole grains, local organic eggs, fresh fruits and vegetables, and unique sauces and dressings made from scratch daily. Our menu is vegetable forward and satisfies even the non-believers of healthy eating.
Whether you are vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, soy-free, raw, cleansing, or just looking for delicious food that is not filled with chemicals or processed ingredients, Active Culture is the place for you. Our signature OG Sauce, made from scratch daily, is a secret recipe that adds a burst of flavor to our popular Wholesome Bowl.
Our homemade almond milk, used as a base for our shakes, is vegan, organic, simple, and delicious. Our blenders are constantly working to create fresh and tasty shakes, including the crowd-favorite Naked Coconut Shake. "Wholesome bowl is my go to. Delicious! I would come more often if the portions were a bit bigger, the yogurt is good but really expensive. I was pleased to see a different flavor up today " Irish mint" but that flavor was out or not working. Hopefully they will keep this one. One last thing, the tables outside are often kinda dirty, they should be a bit more on top of the cleaning here after people leave. But I'm glad AC is here in town!"
"My wife gave me the idea to visit the San Clemente location and, she was not wrong. From the staff to the atmosphere and food, I have no complaints. My patient and I were very happy with the service, cleanliness and the super fresh taste of our order. Top of our list was the "Not your Mama's nachos" followed by the "Naked coconut smoothie", I then tried the "Berry Tasty" smoothie. Thank you to the staff for the great time."
