Stinkin Crawfish of West Covina

"I have been going to this place for years. I love the food here, everything I've ever ordered from the menu has been delicious. I especially like that they offer free dessert at the end of your meal. The sauce and seasoning they use for the seafood broils have the best flavor from any cajun style restaurant ive been to. The food is also moderately priced for the amount you get and they offer some great happy hour deals as well and delicious micheladas. Unfortunately my reason for leaving this review despite all the great experiences I've had before is a negative one. My girlfriend mentioned she had a craving for some cajun food after a long day of work. So of course being the amazing boyfriend i am, i offered to take her to our usual favorite go-to spot for cajun food. We made the drive out after a long day and got there at 8:40 p.m. which i realize is late considering the kitchen closes at 9pm. Ive worked in the hospitality industry before and understand how annoying it can be to get last minute dine-in customers. I hated it myself but it was a nature of the business and dealt with it with a fake smile on my face. Unfortunately we were not offered this same courtesy. As we walked toward the restaurant i could see that half of the chairs were already ontop of the tables clearly preparing to close well before the posted closing time. There was also customers still dining as we walked in finishing up their meal getting ready to go. For some reason we were snidly told by 2 waitresses that were just standing around that they had already done last call for food and we were turned away. Not even offered the courtesy to at least order food to go. It is clearly stated on their door that the kitchen closes at 9pm and they leave the dining room open till 10pm out of courtesy. I don't understand being turned away considering their policy is clearly posted there. It is really a shame due to sheer laziness and poor customer service to be turned away 20 minutes before the posted closing time for the kitchen and 1 hour 20 mins for the dining room. Im usually not one to complain but i feel that reflects poorly on this establishment, considering im actually a big fan of this place. I am really disappointed by this and highly annoyed."

"Such a great place. The manager Robert and both Alyssa's (Alyssa and Alyssa OG) have the best service and make me feel welcomed. Ever since the new management, this place has improved for the best!!!A++++"

"Server service- really bad on Asian people Food- delicious Discrimination- Yes # Service: Really bad. I went there with 2 of my friends to that restaurant on last Sunday around 5:15pm (1/07/2024). I saw 2 sever girls. We already did waiting list. We are the first on the waiting list that time. Store is totally not busy but, that time outside weather is very cold. A lot of table are available. It’s impossible to stay outside with that cold weather. But they don’t care the customers and keep saying to stay outside. This is 1st time give us to service first. #Food: Their foods are delicious and we cost around $300. Also we gave 30% of tips on receipt because we like their food. Then after paid the check around 7pm, we are waiting to get dessert. They sent that dessert to the other table, that other table is not paid the check yet. Buy they already got dessert. For our desserts arrived at 7:50pm after we paid the check. We are the only Asian customers that time and our 1st time comes.We had waited almost 1 hour to get that free dessert especially our table. I didn’t know that restaurant has terrible discrimination service to the Asian customers. That will be our 1st time and last time coming to that Discrimination restaurant on Asian people."

"Food is always good here. I usually get the headless shrimp stinking special spicy with corn potatoes and sausage. The spice level is always different, there’s times were is not spicy and there times were i can only eat a few shrimps at a time before i’m spiced out. It’s always good tho. the fries are good, the garlic cajun ones bring enough garlic to kill a vampire and the garlic bread doesn’t have enough garlic, still bomb tho. you always get a free deep fried oreo and ice cream when dining in. one thing to keep in mind is they close at 9pm but they do last call for kitchen at around 8pm."

"The seafood bags are really fun but I have to say the garlic sauce is way more butter than garlic. The mussels were by far my favorite part compared to the shrimp, although honestly, my favorite dish here was the garlic bread! It was so delicious. The deep fried Oreos are free if you dine in but honestly I thought they were so gross because the Oreos get squishy in there! The service was nice but once you get your food you’re pretty much on your own because they don’t check back in on you."
