Amalfi Marina Bar (Dockside)

"Love this restaurant. My good friend is friend 's with the owner and was part of the celebration party of their newest restaurant that opened in San Diego! All the pasta and pizzas are homemade and to die for! And of course the atmosphere is breathtaking. Definitely a must restaurant when wanting to enjoy and the fresh air , while enjoying a memorable meal that will have you wanting to come back!! Wish we had taken photos to share. We had a lot of food and my friend and I each brought home part of our meals."

"Amalfi San Marcos was a pleasant experience for my family and friends. The service was above our expectations, everyone welcomed us with a welcoming grin. It was as if the food could make us travel into Italy in our minds, tasting the spices and the flavors as if we were there. From the salad to the dessert, you could tell they made sure to make their food well done, not something you get out of a freezer and microwave for about four minutes. The only complaint I have is that the atmosphere was a tad too loud, I couldn't even communicate with the people I tried to enjoy this dinner with. The pasta was maybe a bit too stiff to my liking, but overall the food was great. A place I would return to, but could use just some improvements."

"Our first time there and we got there right at happy hour so we were able to enjoy three shrimp tacos for $10. The tiramisu was the best I’ve ever had.! Hostess had no personality the waiter, a little standoffish, but he did the job. Looking forward to going back and enjoying more goodies"

"It's a shame to review this restaurant so low, but my experience was affected by one of the waiters. My order was taken by one of the staff who wore denim shirts, and a brown apron. These staff seemed to be more in charge than the waiters in black. Though if this is true, it puzzles me as to why one of these aproned waiters would do the following. This older gentleman took my order and all seemed fine. But as he was walking away, I noticed that he kept coughing, often into his bare hand. While doing this, I never saw him leave to a restroom to wash his hands or anything. Like I said, he seemed to be in a position of interacting with Diners and still he would scratch his hair in between orders. It bothered me when he brought me a spoon for a soup that I ordered. It also bothered me to see him handling people's wine glasses. But I was glad to see those staff dressed in black bringing my food. I even asked one of them to bring me an extra spoon which they did. The food was wonderful. The noodles had an interesting texture that I could only imagine being due to it being handmade as noted on their menu. The sauce was also very good. I did not enjoy the soup of the day. It was Lentil soup. It tasted very salty and without any other flavor. The place itself was really nice too. At sometime around 7pm, there were some waterworks and projections on the lake."

"My boyfriend surprised me for dinner last night for my birthday and it was possibly one of the most delicious meals I’ve had in a while. HUGE thank you to our waiter, Mario. He is extremely professional, very kind, and had the best recommendations. And on top of that, he is a very high class waiter and very attentive to our every need - it’s very obvious he cares for his work. Our compliments to the chef as well, (I believe his name is Marcelo but I could be wrong). You can tell he wanted to bring some of his home town food to this restaurant. It made for a fantastic birthday."
