"I wanted to like Raul's more, but the food just didn't warrant a higher rating. I had chicken fried steak, which was fine but the portion was pretty small. Wife had the turkey, bacon, and Swiss sandwich, which is supposed to be a specialty. Unfortunately the onion was lacking and tomato was missing entirely. The onion rings were good and service was prompt and friendly; I *might* give it another try if I were passing through Rio Vista alone, but definitely won't be taking the wife back."

"I always order breakfast...because the hash browns are MAGIC!!! Omelets are fluffy and BEAUTIFUL!! No browned edges here! This little place is a gem! Wonderful staff...it's like going for brunch at a good friends. Did I mention the hash browns are MAGIC?? Crispy and thin but not a drop of oil on your plate!! If you find yourself in the area of Rio Vista...or just want a beautiful drive and a GREAT meal...stop in! I'm eternally grateful that they survived the pandemic...so many of these hidden gems didn't."
