The Free Speech Movement (FSM) Café, located at University Drive in Berkeley, California, is a vibrant and welcoming cafe offering a variety of delicious soups, salads, and sandwiches made with local, sustainable, or organic ingredients. "Cashier told me I wouldn't be able to use my gift card (which had about $10 on it) for a $15 order. He showed me on his screen that the order would still cost $5, and then he charged me the full $15. But whatever action he took to show the order cost coming out to $5 on the screen emptied the $10 balance on my gift card. Not only was the cashier incorrect (I could have credited the $10 gift card balance towards the order, as my friends have done at other Stradavarius restaurants), but the cashier was brusque and rude throughout the entire interaction, and did not respond to my repeated concerns about the gift card, even though there was no line."
"Their price is insane, ripping off students. While their female staffs are friendly, some of their male owners/staff are rude and incompetent. Food is food, but if you think this place is decent I’d Venmo you $15 to check out any other cafe on this planet. It is a shame that this cafe is at the heart of the university and carrying such a historical and prestigious name."
