"The Study Club has impeccable customer service and a curated selection worthy of Barney's in its heyday. I always go out of my way to make the trip and shop when I am on the North Coast! So many of my favorite and bespoke items are from this shop, absolutely recommend."

"Found this store as I wandered the town, and what a delight. Beautifully curated, well tended, gorgeous selection. Bought a few things for myself and my daughter. Had excellent service—even when a couple sale items would not ring properly, they took the time to reconcile and were kind in the process. I found the proprietors to be so helpful, not snobbish (as previous reviews had noted) even though I’d just come from a hike and wasn’t at all put together. Appreciated the visit, and have beautiful things to enjoy through the years."

"Stopped here on a road trip up the California coast. I was expecting a tiny boutique in such a small town but it’s a huge two-story store and so gorgeous. The interior itself is beautiful and feels like an Anthropologie or something (but you know, local and better). Lots of brands that I have seen on Instagram and it was fun to see them in person. Wasn’t expecting the cute kids section upstairs with clothes, toys, and wall decor. The girls working there are really nice. Must stop in Mendocino."

"My wife went into The Study Club to purchase some items of clothing for our granddaughter. In the process she noticed a sweatshirt that was on sale with a no return policy if purchased. When she presented it to me I noticed that she had bought the wrong size. We returned to the store immediately in order to exchange the item for the proper size. We assumed—reasonably I believe— that the fact that we were not trying to reverse the purchase but only to get the size right would not be a problem. The Store clerk would not even consider granting our request. In a haughty manner she told me that the purchase was final. Instead she gave me washing instructions to keep the item from shrinking to the point where it no longer fit! It already didn’t fit! Utterly rude! This after my wife had just spent several hundred dollars in their store. Such customer service is inexcusable regardless of whether the products are of high quality. This kind of customer service will doom The Study Club to a short lifespan. At least their predecessors in that location could blame Covid for their demise—not poor customer service. I know I would never shop there again and I spend a lot of money in Mendocino stores."

"The Study Club is my destination store when I visit Mendocino. The store design is stunning. Beautiful high quality women’s apparel and accessories. In addition to apparel there are beautiful home decorative pillows and throws. The interior of the store is magnificent. Open space, clean, two levels and beautifully merchandised with creative displays including a decorative sheep! Very friendly service and the sales associate answered all of my questions regarding the merchandise. I Purchased a stunning soft, cozy Alpaca Cardigan sweater. Love it and this store."
