"Possibly the **best organized** thrift store I’ve ever been in!! Even the electronic cables are hung with care. Bed and bath linens, baby/toddler clothes, scrap materials and notions, potholders, etc all in labeled bins and drawers. Fabulous finds — stereo equipment, backpacks, kitchenware, tripods, curtains, books, along with the usual used clothing (although the jeans will cost you at least $12 apiece — sales are on Saturdays). Extensive glassware and jewelry sections. Friendly staff. Square checkout so credit and debit cards accepted (no checks — too much fraud)."

"Excellent at times, staff is volunteer and friendly. I see other reviews that are negative but I have never had a bad experience there. Prices are sometimes "thrifty" and sometimes "thrift-ique" (meaning someone has done their homework and assessed an antique's current market value) but, hey, rents at the Boatyard are pretty darned high and a business that's trying to make the rent is just doing busness. That's just the way it goes. Many thrift stores are availing themselves of the Internet these days. And that's the way THAT goes."

"Incredibly disappointed with the behavior and attitudes of the staff. Walked in without a mask and looked around, everything was going fine. Heard masks were required so we were on our way out. Staff at the counter said “look there goes another two” and then yelled “YEAH DONT COME BACK!” extremely unnecessary aggression and poor way to handle the situation. I love fort bragg and I am very saddened by this interaction. Though they have every right to believe masks should be worn in their place of business, it’s imperative that all customers be treated with respect. Im not for any kind of discrimination and it’s disappointing that they are. Do better."

"First: The entrance is via the McDonald's road and into the shopping center through the rear. It's a bit confusing. Second: Closed Sunday. Plan Accordingly. You don't want to miss a visit if it can be helped. I typically find great wardrobe pieces. Not as frequently, home items but when I do they're really awesome. I see a lot of moms and kids vacation shopping for forgotten items with great success."

"Thrift shops are rather far outside my bailiwick and definitely nothing I would ever wax rhapsodic about but I'll try to give an accurate account of their essential character here. The store itself is rather dull and quite large, bordering on cavernous, but consistently well-stocked. Perhaps even more than most such stores they are obviously at the mercy of their donations and it wouldn't be wise to form an opinion as to what you might find there on any given day. It is safe to say that it's much more weighted towards home furnishings and second-hand garments than thrift stores which more closely approximate antique stores or pawn shops. Prices are relatively fair but often capricious, and quite firm in my experience. No ambience to speak of in the form of music or staff interactions, just the soft hum of other shoppers' conversations and the traffic on Pacific Coast Highway passing by. The staff is responsive when sought out but content to move at a slow pace overall that can be irritating occasionally. Best moment: finding a gently used love seat there for $75 just before Christmas, at a moment a neighbor was in need of new furniture. Solid deal, thought also a solid backache having to wrestle it into my truck by myself. Worst moment: Buying a used computer keyboard there which I quickly learned was DOA and hadn't even been summarily plugged in to see if it lit up. No refund, had to settle for store credit. Both of those occurrences were on the order of five years ago; your mileage may vary. Like so many other things in life, the old wisdom that low expectations = infrequent disappointment seems like the best advice."
