"A spectacular place to be, lacking maintenance, unfortunately! Can't believe how a beautiful parkland has zero maintenance. Of all the big/small parks I had ever been to in or outside Ilinois, I had never experienced a park in such a bad shape. This riverfront park does need some serious supervision. The covered seating area, the fencing, the bushes around, are all covered in cobwebs, like an abandoned territory. I feel so happy & sorry at the same time to be here. The dam is gorgeous & the soothing sound of water could be heard from far away. Picnic benches, gazebo, views of the lake, radiant sculptures & a long peaceful trail with geese right along the way—what more can you ask for! Well, how about some maintenance? Parking: Use the designated parking across the street at the island park."
