"Paved for a bit, then turns grassy. Beautiful spot to get away for some peace and quiet. No dogs allowed."
"I met a very kind gentlemen here last month and we talked about lepidopterology, specifically giant silk moths. I'd love to talk with him more and share our findings but I've yet to run into him again. Maybe he'll see this? :) Either way this is one of my favorite spots to come take photographs, it is very well maintained and has a fairly large picnic area with circular trails."
"The vegetation here is very pretty The park looks a lot smaller from the road than it turns out to be. Very basic amenities . There are signs and there is a path. And if you walk half a mile in there's a little picnic area. No bathrooms, no water. Very peaceful and I rarely see people here when I drive by. Neat little spot to stop in for a short hike."
"Prairie Oaks is a well-maintained forest preserve that makes up the northmost section of the Haines Creek Conservation Corridor. This particular preserve features a creek and some wetlands, and is equipped with several benches and picnic tables. Handicap parking is available, and near to the entrance of the preserve, there is a sign which has a map as well as the rules. The paths at this location are a combination of paved and mowed grass."
"Smaller, more intimate feel to this park, while also providing many miles of trails for hiking or snowshoeing. Lots of nice picnic spots throughout the park as well."
