"Have to have tent on concrete. It's so loud next to highway, camp supervisor was rude to my wife, and once again they WON'T LET U CAMP ON GRASS. DO NOT RECOMMEND"

"This campground may be ok for RV's but is definitely not tent camping friendly. Although it is in none of the park rules online, we were told by the camp steward that we were not allowed to set up our tent anywhere in the grass on our site. He also didn't seem to have any knowledge of our site reservation that I had set up weeks prior online when talking to me, and seemed very standoffish while discussing all of this with us. He forced us to set up our tent on the crumbling black top driveway of our site where we were unable to stake down our tent effectively. I have been tent camping for over 30 years across the country from county to national parks and have never been told I could not tent on the grass. If this rule had been outlined anywhere, we probably would have looked for accommodations elsewhere. the campgrounds were well groomed and clean which was a positive but I would suggest the city of Maquoketa review their policies to create a more inclusive experience for all styles of camping and perhaps review if the current steward is truly being a steward for the campground, and the city."

"Stayed for a long weekend. Pad was level gravel and well compacted. Dump station is easy access along with potable water. On site showers are fine. Power was clean and reliable. Butch the host met us, insured we got setup and was helpful with navigating to our event."

"The camp host named Butch behaved like an irate, ignorant and aggressive bully who could be a liability to the city and the park . i hope he learned from the incident to be less aggressive. recent video on youtube exposes him and his conduct unbecoming. search youtube for Travis maquoketa iowa."

"Butch the park host is a very angry man. Could be too much caffeine. He has a confrontational personality. He needs to be medicated to put a smile on his face. He needs to read the Constitution of the United States."
