"I give it a 3.5 overall. It gets a 5 for raw nature in the middle of no where boarder line of Texas and New Mexico. It gets a 2 for things to do…if your looking for “ things to do” besides look at nature/landscape and walk down the trail you will not find it here. I came to take pictures of landscape and check this off the list. We didn’t know the road in was the boarder line of the two states. So we took pictures of each other standing in different states. I walked down the trail, didn’t see much in the way of animals. Plants and bugs. If I stopped for much more than 30 seconds I got attacked by weird flies that stung like wasp bites. Bring bug spray, I didn’t…if that would even work."
"Pretty place to observe nature don't recommend hiking here with teeny tinies none of the trails were stroller accessible"
"Beautiful views in all directions once you get there. Dirt road there is a little difficult in a low car. Best have a truck or SUV."
"Such a beautiful place, I will miss it when we move away from NM. Such a hidden gem! Go see it, don't hesitate! Sunset time is the most beautiful time"
"There's a stark beauty to this place. It's a decent place to go hiking for a few hours. It's very quiet and peaceful. If you plan your visit at the right time in the spring or fall you may see migrating waterfowl or cranes on the salt flat lake but otherwise it's generally pretty quiet. There's also quite a few wildflowers to enjoy in the summer. If you plan to go be aware that there are no facilities here - only a dirt parking lot."
