"You'd think you'd be nervous if there's not a whole lot of discussion about a punch list towards the end of a project. But, we just didn't see anything "wrong" or out of place or unfinished. There was no punch list (that we discussed, they might have had one internally), because simply there was no need for one. We're now a month past completion and we have not found one thing we question or are unhappy with. Not even something as relatively trivial as an exposed screw head or slightly protruding nail. There were some engineering/design/finish things we didn't explicitly discuss with Solid Ground that we wondered how they would approach (like where the door would go, or how certain things would ultimately be finished). We had our ideas of what might be good, but in every case the end result executed by Solid Ground was far superior to anything we thought of. Because, quite simply, they KNOW more than we do about decks. I had dreamed of a New Castle Steel frame for a few years and Solid Ground seems to use them by default, so it felt like a great match from the start. Solid Ground uses, from what I can tell through research, the best looking and most durable materials available. Yes, some elements cost a bit more, but I have high confidence in the long-term value. I'm done with constantly sealing and repairing wood decks. All I need is a leaf blower and a hose and this deck will both last, and continue to look as good as it does now....for years to come. Decades, actually. Absolute high confidence in Solid Ground. Materials, design, concept, and execution. I honestly believe they would have trouble sleeping at night if they cut a corner or made a choice that would result in the customer thinking "why did they do it that way or use that color material there?" More than one neighbor commented on the courteousness and general pleasantness of the crew doing the work. 10x12 useless flipper's wood deck with no stairs to the yard (south facing: too hot during the day) in a slightly wooded area with a creek (too buggy at night) replaced by a 12x12 covered screen area with a 12x8 uncovered section for the grill and steps to the yard. Added the expanded concrete patio to the design after work started. Adds a ton of more usable space now that it's accessible. We could not be happier with the result."
