"I regret to express my dissatisfaction with the services provided by the tax accountant, John. In my professional opinion, there have been significant organizational and competency issues observed during our business engagement. It appears that he may be overwhelmed with his workload, as evidenced by challenges in maintaining accurate client records. Efforts to establish communication with John have been met with difficulties, as he seems unreachable by phone and email, unless prompted by signs of frustration. Regrettably, the timelines given by him to finish your taxes are constantly moving, at first, 4 days, then 1 week passes by, and you need to be calling constantly to check on the status, and every time you call, they add another week. I caution individuals seeking a seamless and reliable experience in tax-related matters to exercise caution when considering John's services."

"First, it seems Mr. Burns is obviously embarrassing himself by making thinly veiled attempts to mitigate the damage done to his business by bad reviews. He is pretending the reviewers are not his customers. This can be seen on other one star reviews where he says “We have no record of this person, blah blah bah.” So, since he’ll surely do that to this review, too, I’ll describe him and his office to demonstrate that I was, in fact, a customer of his: John is a paunchy guy, greying hair, with a slight country accent. His office has an old fashioned typewriter and economist magazines in the waiting room. In John’s office are two ugly wingback chairs with a strange pattern on them, facing his large, what appears to be faux wood desk. The desk is entirely covered in people’s tax documents, and, in this way, ridiculously cluttered. Behind his desk is a bookshelf on either side, and art in the middle. On the left most bookshelf is a fiction book about supernatural beings. I remember, because it stuck out, since that’s a really random book to have in a cpa’s office. Anyway, here’s my review: John messed up my taxes, and refused to return my calls about this issue. He has no idea what he is doing, or is just very negligent, and simply doesn’t care. If approached about his errors, he will avoid you at all costs, and if you manage to talk with him about them, he will give a curt quasi apology and then get defensive, and yet still have the audacity to expect you to keep him as your accountant. Anyone looking for an accountant should go somewhere else. This guy is negligent, rude, and unprofessional, and could possibly cause you problems with the IRS. I will be looking for a new accountant next year, as my family’s business is growing, possibly opening up a second location, and I will need an actual professional accountant who won’t make mistakes next year."

"John Burns is my accountant for my personal and small business needs. Recently, I brought my dad in to do his taxes. His patience, and kindness with my father was impeccable. His knowledge to quickly resolve an issue was well thought out and appreciated. John always answers all my questions so that I fully understand any given situation that I come across whether it be in my business or my personal accounting."

"Had a great experience with my taxes today. John is really efficient and friendly. Got a great refund for 2022 and with an amendment, got more for last year. I highly recommend his services."

"In response to the owner's comment about not having record of me: You just called my husband today asking for me to take down this review, so you know exactly who I am. I wasn't going to leave a comment initially and just let my 1 star review speak for itself, but since you just called and tried to incentivize my husband with a full refund of last year's taxes (which i asked for last year and you refused--convenient how youre offering now...maybe since it was my husband that you spoke with today?), I think I'll go ahead and comment now. This business owner is completely unprofessional. He was demeaning to me, and took an excessively long time to complete our very UNcomplicated taxes (its just my husband and i). When I expressed my dissatisfaction, I was met with rudeness, dishonesty, and unwillingness to cooperate. After calling multiple times, it wasn't until I threatened to take my business elsewhere that it finally got done. Also warning to those looking for a CPA for their business taxes: I have a family member who also used him (transfer from Clemmer) for their business, and they had the same experience (i wont speak of the details since its not my story to tell). But this is not a one-off thing. The company was so much better when it was Clemmer. I had no problems them. He got rid of all the good staff from there. Shame. So John, you can keep the $200 refund you offered my husband, and I'll keep my 1 star review posted. You deserve it. (All above is my personal experience and opinion)."
