"Joe was referred to us by a couple of friends who use him. It was March that we called and made an appointment to meet with Joe. My husband and I knew we were getting the information to him late, and anticipated estimating our taxes to pay them in advance and to file an extension. When we arrived to our appointment, the office looked like a tornado had struck. Files were all over the floor and all over his desk. He totally forgot about the appointment, stating that he had a doctor’s appointment, then he suddenly left, directing us to leave our documents with his receptionist. We should have turned around, left, and ran away, never to return again, but since our friends recommended him, we stayed the course. Joe called me several weeks later, asking me about a rental property that we don’t even own. My trust in his ability sank. On another occasion, he sent us our tax return, stating that it was complete and ready to be signed. When I opened the document, there were incomplete areas on many parts of the form. When I called to tell Joe this, he apologized and said that the return was not ready to be signed. Our trust lowered to the gutter at this point, but we exercised grace because we had heard that his business partner died and Joe had been in a tailspin ever since. Weeks and months went by, and eventually, Joe turned our file over to be completed by his associate, Jerry, in June or July. Jerry sent me a number of emails requesting additional information in order to complete the return. Most, but not all of the information was sent, but was was mind-boggling was that months came and went, but this business waited until June/July to request this information?! After additional email exchanges and a phone conversation with Jerry in which he was very rude and condescending in his tone, we went to the office in August, and we filed our own taxes on August 14th. This was a 6-month ordeal, and we are left to pay this business $200 for incomplete services! Never again. Two thumbs down for this business - don’t even waste your time."
