"The worst. Most unprofessional experience overall. It doesn't speak for everyone but 90% of what I have delt with is unforgivable. My daughter is a 4th grader. She left her eye glasses on her school bus towards the end of last year. At the beginning of this year about 6 weeks in she saw her same bus driver (a grown man) wearing her glasses. She told him they were her hers & he argued with her. I had to go to the bus driver & speak with him. He admitted that they were not his & that it was a misunderstanding & he apologized. My daughter went months without her glasses & weeks at school without them. Letting the teachers know she can't see didn't matter. When my daughter would tell them to move her closer to the board, they didn't take her seriously until I confirmed. I also told the school office about the bus driver. "Oh my gosh! Reallly?" Is all I got. My daughter has been repeatedly bullied & fat-shamed. She stuck up for herself & the school immediately calls me with a parent looking to be compensated financially. I was told the BOY bullying my daughter has been in several physical fights with students. He even threatened my daughter after that incident by telling her that his mom said she was going to come to the school & look for her. Shortly after, another student (a little girl) fat-shamed my daughter even more to the point where she cried, seperated herself from all other students & didn't eat breakfast or lunch at school. It took until the 4th day of that for a teacher to even notice & make her get a tray. It was another week after that when again my daughter was tired of the bullying from that girl & the girl pushing & shoving my daughter that my daughter called the girl a name that caused the teacher to call me & I informed the teacher of the problem. Now here is February. I have a paper for an assignment giving 2 grades sent home on African American inventors. My daughter was to pick 3, take the 3 to the teacher & the teacher would pick one of those 3 & my daughter would do her assignment. Well, we never received back the paper advising which inventor to study. I even asked the teacher & was ignored. The teacher requested a parent/teacher confrence to discuss my daughter's now failing grades & lack of participation in class. And wow to my surprise, I was stood up by that teacher even after letting 3 people in the office know I was there & one letting the teacher know I was there. Yesterday the inventor assignment was due & my daughter received a ZERO in 2 classes for not having the work. I am absolutely sick of this. I would rather homeschool my child than keep putting her through this punishment. I mean just look at the trash that is happening throughout the distrct? What a waste. My daughter is in GT classes for Acedemics, has been since 2nd grade in Dallas ISD & now she is failing in Desoto. She also had perfect attendance until now. As soon as the year ends, she is out of there & if I could do it sooner, I would."

"I am a teacher who has taught in DeSoto ISD for 12 years. I am proud of the high standard and integrity of those in administration and throughout the faculty and staff. Some of my very best friends work with me in this school district. The district is not perfect in every single category, and that is ok. There is a plan, a clear mission, a goal and the trend arrows are moving in the appropriate direction. This district certainly shines bright."

"This school district is run by the "educated ignorant" that continue to use violence against young people with their perverse corporal punishment rituals. Throughout most of our country we are trying to stop bullying and violence, but here they cannot progress with the rest of 21st century America, so they promote the violence. It is past time for those that abuse others to lay their damn wooden weapons down. Unbelievable Outrageous abuse still going on in the backwoods of Texas."

"The DeSoto ISD should be ashamed of itself for allowing the volleyball team to disrespect the police, the anthem, the flag and the country. Those students should be disciplined, and any adults participating should be fired. The principal of DeSoto High should be fired in any case."
