"Okay!! I recently moved to McKinney from Chicago and was so thrilled about a possibility of owning a pool. I had enquired at several places and they were all willing to talk only if we were ready to spend a minimum of $75,000 and it’s without addons features etc. and wherever I saw pool work it took a minimum 5 months to complete. Brian Waltz at Tropic island was the person we interacted with and we felt extremely comfortable pursuing our project with him. We finished our whole and huge pool with upgrades and travertine pavers in $75k and in 2 months. Great communication, updates and keeping up timelines. "My experience with Tropic Island was absolutely horrible. Communication was non-existent, the carelessness of the work was absolutely ridiculous, They broke my fence in multiple spots with the machinery, they almost starting digging in the wrong spot from having the wrong blueprint, they had to come back multiple times to "fix" my fence while they left it broken for weeks at a time knowing that I have pets. They installed the wrong lights in my pool delaying the process even longer. They left my yard with trash all over it on multiple occasions. The attention to detail was just not there. I get that covid and rain played a factor and I tried to be accommodating, but when I have to constantly reach out to managers and owners of the company to get an update after weeks of not hearing from someone or being lied to it is unacceptable. Nick was and is the only person who seemed to actually care about what happened and tried to make amends and that's why I would give them 1 star not 0."

"I am pleased to write a review for Tropic Island Pools. My husband and I recently bought a home in the Plano area. Our home has a beautiful pool. Our initial contact with Tropic Island pools was to set up maintenance service. We chose them because they had a good reputation and because they are a family owned business. We have been incredibly pleased with our maintenance service. In fact, it was our maintenance technician that noticed that we had an issue with our pool system (which we had already suspected) that needed attention. He immediately texted us and recommend that we turn off the power to avoid any damage to our system. At our request, Tropic Island Pool had a technician at our home within 48 hours. The technician contacted me by text letting me know when he would be arriving, quickly diagnosed the problem, and immediately sent me a work estimate via email to review and approve. I reviewed the cost, which I found reasonable, and approved the work. I texted the technician again and asked if he could repair it right then and there. He said yes. I also asked him to check out a few other issues which he did and is reviewing. I was back at our new house yesterday. The pool looks fantastic, crystal clear, and the system is humming along. Greatly appreciate the expertise, response time, and the ability to communicate via text and email as we are still in the process of moving. Everyone with whom I have interacted at Tropic Island Pools has not only been professional and knowledgeable, but also very pleasant! Highly Recommend Tropic Island Pool"
